Day 186 – Strategy Deuteronomy 20:1 “When you go out to battle against your enemies and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for JEHOVAH your Elohiym is with you, who brought you up from the land of Egypt. 2 It will happen, when you are on the verge of battle, that the priest will approach and speak to the people. 3 He will say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel, today you are on the verge of battle with your enemies. Do not let your heart faint, do not be afraid, and do not tremble or be terrified because of them; 4 for JEHOVAH your Elohiym is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.’ 5 Then the officers will speak to the people, saying, ‘What man built a new house and has not dedicated it? Let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle and another man dedicate it. 6 Also, what man planted a vineyard and has not eaten of it? Let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle and another man eat of it. 7 What man betrothed a woman and has not married her? Let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle and another man marry her.’ 8 The officers will speak further to the people, and say, ‘What man is there who is fearful and fainthearted? Let him go and return to his house, lest the heart of his brethren faint like his heart.’ 9 It will happen, when the officers finish speaking to the people, they will make captains of the armies to lead the people. 10 “When you go near a city to fight against it, then proclaim an offer of peace to it. 11 It will happen if they accept your offer of peace, and open to you, then the people found in it will be placed under tribute to you and serve you. 12 If the city will not make peace with you, but makes war against you, then you will besiege it. 13 When JEHOVAH your Elohiym delivers it into your hands, you will strike every male with the edge of the sword. 14 However, the women, the little ones, the livestock, and everything in the city, its spoil, you will plunder for yourself; and you will eat the enemies’ plunder which JEHOVAH your Elohiym gives you. 15 Thus, you will do to the cities which are far from you, which are not of the cities of these nations. 16 Of the cities of these people which JEHOVAH your Elohiym gives you as an inheritance, you will let nothing that breathes remain alive, 17 but you will destroy them: the Hittite, Amorite, Canaanite, Perizzite, Hivite, and the Jebusite, as JEHOVAH your Elohiym commanded you, 18 lest they teach you to do according to their abominations which they did for their gods, and you sin against JEHOVAH your Elohiym. 19 “When you besiege a city for a long time, while making war against it to take it, you will not destroy its trees by wielding an ax against them; if you can eat of them, do not cut them down to use in the siege, for the tree of the field is man’s food. 20 Only the trees which you know are not trees for food you may destroy and cut down, to build siegeworks against the city that makes war with you, until it is subdued. God’s name: JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal Elohiym – Supreme God Yeshuwa – Jesus Kurios – Supreme Authority Theos – Supreme Divinity Adown – Sovereign Lord God’s character: Commander of the Army Every military unit has leaders who give orders to their subordinates, strategize against the enemy, and lead their units into battle. JEHOVAH gave Israel its orders and told them He would lead them into battle against their enemies. He also told them who should not go into battle, but return home; those who bought land, purchased a vineyard, or married and did not dedicate the land or consummate the marriage, lest someone else did so if he died in battle. Then JEHOVAH also told those who were afraid of the battle to return home so they wouldn’t cause the others to lose heart. JEHOVAH also told the people how to take the city, destroy the inhabitants, what they could keep alive and enjoy the spoil. When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, Satan became your enemy. Yeshuwa told you Satan could not harm you if you listened to Him and allowed Him to go ahead of you into battle to defeat him. He already defeated Him on the cross. Yeshuwa will continue to go ahead of you into every battle Satan brings against you. He said He would never leave you or forsake you. Hebrews 13:5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” 6 We may boldly say, “Kurios is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” When Yeshuwa goes before you into battle, Satan doesn’t stand a chance. He will flee before you, and you will take back everything he stole from you. James 4:7 Therefore submit to Theos. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Yeshuwa is your Commander, He will lead you against your enemy. You have nothing to fear when He goes before you. Joshua 5:13 It happened, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. Joshua went to Him and said to Him, “Are You for us or for our adversaries?” 14 He said, “No, but as Commander of the army of JEHOVAH I have now come.” Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, “What does my Adown say to His servant?” 15 Then the Commander of JEHOVAH’S army said to Joshua, “Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy.” Joshua did so. What makes you afraid? Trust Yeshuwa, and He will go ahead of you into battle and defeat your enemy. Satan doesn’t stand a chance against Him. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for sending Your Son to go ahead of me into every battle Satan comes against me. Increase my faith as I put my trust in You to defeat Satan. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 22 July 2024 by Valerie Routhieaux The image belongs to me.

When we battle with Satan, we should try to realise that God is battling against him with us, and so when we acknowledge God as being there, Satan will turn, and run away. We will win all our battles with Satan because of God.
