Reliance Jio is now the No 1 in terms of data consumption. Reliance Jio has served nearly 44 exabytes or 4400 crore GB data to its users the during last quarter. This is a record in itself. He easily looks quite unstoppable. What do you think about Mr. Ambani? Are you a subscriber of Reliance Jio?

Jio revolutionized use of Mobile for Internet with its initially free and then lower priced tariff plans. I took the Jio connection after a few months on January 2017. In a way, competition from Jio made Airtel and others reduce their mobile data and then Broadband plans' prices. So it did good for the consumers then. However, in a way, Mobile Data usage became so economically feasible that it habituated many to mobiles and mobile Internet. Now Jio is in profit and after the latest tariff increase, it will further consolidate. However, Jio mobile and Broadband quality is an issue in many places. That needs to be improved. Overall, I have mixed feelings towards Jio. Just to add, Jio Telecom would come with a much anticipated IPO early next year. It would certainly create a lot of buzz. Would you plan to go for it?

@abhi_bangal I think the story of Ambanis is a mix of Good and not so good. Welfare of people as well as "manipulating" system. Their success made Thousands employed and bought a lot of revenue to Government. They revolutionized Telecom sector and the Internet Data. Also their investments in Green Hydrogen can be a game changer. They have a big footprint in Retail courtesy Smart Bazaar. They gave good returns and dividends to Thousands of Shareholders. Yet the recent Anant Ambani marriage was too extravagant and could have been a little toned down. Jio Network often has issues. Then I have heard from a few Accountancy guys that Reliance is expert in manipulating and saving a lot of taxes over the years. So se cannot think of them as everything good or bad.

@abhi_bangal You articulated your opinion very well. I think the Mobile networks vary from place to place in terms of Number of towers and signal strength. I am not against saving on taxes but against misusing the laws and the loopholes in the law for saving money or taxes.

The preparations for Jio had started long back. It took the Ambanis nearly 8 to 10 years for the service to bring where it is now. No doubt Jio was a revolutionary factor in India's telecom sector. It was a never before experience for all the users. Before that I think we were paying nearly ?250 for 1 GB of data. And suddenly will started getting 1 GB of data for free. Obviously it was going to be fun for everyone, especially the consumers. But the other telecom companies faced huge earthquake like tremors. But after all he is Mr Ambani. He was going to do something that would make his father proud. He grew empire like never before. I think he is, and was always on the correct line.

Dear friend, What's there to feel unfortunate about? We choose according to our liking. Some are okay with other service providers, while some are fine with the others. In lighter words, you didn't help Mr. Ambani with that 44 billion GB usage Anyway, there are millions of others who will do it

It's ok. Even we don't know a few things from your side. Ambani is one of the richest person in the world. His son got married a few days back. They were in the news. And the entire world had so many things to write about them. Everyone covered their marriage stories. And Reliance is the company they own. Jio is the telecom and internet service provider here in India. I think if you read the rest of this discussion, you will know many more things about them.

I'm just saying how much popular these figures are the world over. If you don't know them, it's ok. Because we too don't know a few of your business names...

Do you know Reliance Jio? Reliance is the company owned by Mr. Mukesh Ambani. And Jio is the internet provider in India. In the last quarter, Jio users used 44 billion GB data. And the company has surpassed a few benchmarks also. Here's the link to the article that might clear your doubts.
A new record has been set by Reliance Jio. Jio has surpassed all others in terms of data consumption to become the top network in the world.
