Oh this thing is a pain already. I had to blow into it to start the car. Fine. Well rhe thing then will randomly make you pull over and re-test. Not 5 minutes after I tested and got on the parkway it wanted me to test again. Like I’m doing 80 on the highway. Where was I supposed to pull over? Fine. I took my chances and pulled to the shoulder. Did it again. I finally got here to MVC and turned off the car. It wanted me to test again. Here’s the thing—I have asthma. Repeatedly a breath test gets more difficult with each attempt. It took 3 times to get a valid response. And I’m going to have to do it all over again to get back to my apartment? I’m definitely going to use my inhaler before attempting that again.

This would be getting old very quickly. It seems pretty crazy that you have to test so often.

What is to stop a drunk from blowing into the device to start the car with a six-pack waiting in the passenger's seat, which he begins drinking AFTER he has successfully started the car, in effect, averting the device?

@porwest Point taken but it still seems a lot of testing.

@JudyEv There's a solution to that. Don't drink and drive and get caught. lol

One time when you start the car should be enough! Making you pull over is dangerous.

@porwest I get it. In some states you can even legally have an open drink in your car while you are driving. That isn't the case in NJ. Obviously this wasn't the case for me. It never would be in my wildest dreams. We just don't have open containers in cars. No road sodas. Like let me get where I'm going to and then I'll party like a rock star if that's what I want to do. I don't drink and drive and to have to keep getting random demands to pull over to test is a whole new issue for me. My anxiety yesterday was off the charts. I also HATE having to go somewhere where I don't know where I'm going. (3 "wheres in that sentence) That has caused my 2 car accidents. At least now I just have to get to my usual point A and point B. But what an effing hassle.

@NJChicaa I have heard of PASSENGERS being allowed to drink in cars in motion. Missouri is such a state. But NEVER the driver. lol As for not knowing where you're going, they invented something called GPS which solves that. You should look into it. lol

I still can’t believe you have to deal with this. It’s ridiculous.

Is this all stemming from that accident in the parking lot of the hospital? You weren't drunk, why did you get burdened with this thing?

Yes from the 2021 accident. Prosecutor wanted to suspend my license for 3 months with a plea for reckless driving. I would not agree to that as I live alone and have to be able to get to work. So this was the compromise. Stupid I know since my BAC was 0.0
