I got some work done on the remaining Acoustic Research vintage loudspeaker yesterday.

I had yesterday off. No music practice or anything else. It hit 99 F, and I did make it to the pool, but I spent much of the day working on the remaining vintage AR speaker at my house. I'll attach a photo of the top, which is sanded, water treated, and ready for oil. It should look nice. But most of my time was spent gluing in small pieces of veneer on some damaged corners. For those interested, fixing damaged corners is a gradual process, taking several days or weeks. First I glue what's there down. for structural integrity. Then I build the corner up, using wood filler, and sometime small bits of scrap veneer, glued in at various angles, for strength. (I think of it as "mini-plywood.") Finally I glue in the veneer that the world will see, press it down (one way or another) and let it "cure" for several hours before sanding it into the shape I want. The work involved is an enjoyable mixture of planning and executing. I always look forward to my next project. Anyway, that's how I spent my Monday. How was yours? I'll be back to Guitar Center this afternoon.

The speaker looks good. Anything worth doing is worth doing well and right. You're doing a good job.

@just4him Thanks, Valerie. I really do take pride in my work. I just turned this one over and am now working on the bottom. Maybe I'll take a "during" picture. I already started sanding it. I hope your day is off to a good start. Well, it's Noon there, but you get the idea.

I may visit briefly again before Guitar Center. But I have one fairly big errand to run.

Isn't "mini-plywood" the way Stormy Danials described Trump?

It will look excellent when you oil it. Monday I spent making several phone calls; and our housekeeper was over to do the trash and some other things on my to-do list. Tuesday the concrete guys started on putting in the handrails. I don't know when they will pour the concrete. Have a good day.
