Bengalies like both the types of grams

In bengal both the types of grams called chola. One simple form are the dark ones which are small. There is another variety which are bigger and called kabuli chola. Both are cooked and eaten with chapatis. Sometimes the kabuli ones are cooked as curry and eaten with batore. In north India chole batore are very popular.

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is a gram? In the UK that's a measure of weight or volume.

@sharonelton Dr. Souvik is telling about the Chickpea varieties that are used in a lot of places in India. Dark or Kala Chana - Darker Chickpeas Lighter or White Chana - Lighter, white Chickpeas

I like both. Yet I somehow like the darker ones more with Rice. The Lighter ones or what we call as "Kabuli Chana" go well with Pooris and other delicacies. Chole Bhature (Chickpeas in Gravy + Fermented and slightly swelled Bread made from Refined Wheat Flour) are my favorites especially from Haldiram's

@sathviksouvik Yes at Railway Stations we can get a variety of cuisines. In fact, there is a Food court in the vicinity of the New Delhi Railway Station.
