It has been sometime that I have experienced the metropolis being inundated with floodwaters. I am seeing a lot of places around that are underwater and it seems the rain is still going on. There is a typhoon but it is going away and will not landfall Because of this, they are pulling the rains towards us, which makes it very rainy. The last flooding like this was in 2009, when almost the whole of Metro Manila was flooded. I am just fortunate to be living on the 4th floor, so I am not affected by anything, and my place is a bit elevated, which is why we are not affected at the moment.

Lack of proper drainage or water storage and people's discipline. There was even a video that the eco aide just sweep the trash right through the drainage hole don't they have mobile trash bins

I recall that immediately following the Ondoy incident in our area, our local government made significant investments in expanding drainage under major roads. That would explain why the streets that were previously inundated by Ondoy were unaffected this time, indicating that the volume of water was greater than that of Typhoon Ondoy.

That is true when rainy season arrives you are definitely saved from being flooded. During typhoon season it could also be very frightening since you hear the strong winds and is at risk of getting hit by flying debris around. All have its advantages and disadvantages.

I'm glad the flooding won't affect you. There would be nothing worse than trying to clean a flooded house.

It is true that I am fortunate enough to live on the fourth floor, so I am not concerned about flooding, even though I have heard from people nearby that it is a concern. I am seeing a lot of videos online, and I am sorry for the people they are about to affect.

Yes, if you live in Metro Manila, I believe the weather was particularly bad, as many roads became flooded and impassable. One of my coworkers was severely affected by flooding, but they did not evacuate and were able to survive by staying on the second floor. The floods did not cause any injuries, but their furniture was severely damaged.

@rsa101 Thank God they have been through in such calamities like that. I have seen the flood in the news yesterday. I'm also living in Metro Manila!
