A day of making things

Yesterday turned into a day of making things. Little One came home from school poorly the day before and had a bad night, so she was at home resting in the morning while I worked. But in the afternoon she felt better so we tackled some things together. First on my list were some earrings I bought a few weeks ago. They were only cheap, from a market stall, but they were cute. The catch was that they had wires for pierced ears and my ears are not pierced and neither are the girls’. But I bought them anyway because I could swap the wires for clips quite easily at home. Now that I have found the best kind of clips and discovered I can adjust them so they are just right – not so tight they hurt, but not so loose they fall off when I dance – it’s opened up a whole new world of jewellery making opportunities! So I got out my little box of bits and altered the earrings I had bought, then Little One joined in and made herself a few pairs, and I made a couple extra for myself too. All good fun and probably as productive as a school day would have been, given that the teachers pretty much give up at the end of term anyway! Aren't you the clever one? I don't have pierced ears either; and this is an excellent idea. Have a good day. I'm glad Little One felt better and could join in the fun.

What a lovely way to pass part of the day, and your earrings look very stylish.

I don't have pierced ears either so I've never bothered with ear-rings but these look very cute. I know what you mean about teachers giving up at the end of term.
