I went to post this and OOPS!!! This showed up: Error: Title cannot be blank; I added "and greetings from California. I forgot that I didn't add a "Title"!! Gee, everyone is posting about what they're doing today, I might as well join in. My day started in at 5:15 a.m. with the most AWFUL smell you could want to smell. As my father would say, "It smells worse than a cheap whore!" I barely made it to the bathroom for Freya to watch me throw up. I'm not positive but I think that the city decided to spray for bugs, and that's what they chose. Whoever okayed it has awful sense in smell!!! I'm still gagging!!!! Well that was the kick off to the day. I heard the helicopter hovering overhead so I knew something was up. Then they headed back towards the airport, so I guess they finished making us sick. I hope that won't become a habit!!! As soon as the helicopter left the leaf blower started up. OH JOY!!! Now I get to contend with the dust along with the stench! It's already nearly 80 degrees, so closing the windows isn't an option. And, checking the calendar, it's Wednesday, the normal day for blowing the leaves. SIGH! I went outside to check what was going on, and the yard people had sprayed the 3rd floor deck (I wondered WHY Freya was racing back and forth from the window to the bedroom full speed for at least 5 laps. Now I know. Don't know why they sprayed, but they sprayed. I just hope no one slips on the damp cement. The stuff that they sprayed stinks nearly as bad as the stuff at 5 a.m. and it's 7:30 a.m.. It's going to be hot hot hot again today, so I don't get to head out. I wasn't comfortable in the apartment yesterday, so going outside today isn't an option. Yesterday it was well over 100 degrees, which wouldn't be so bad but we've had too many days of extreme heat here and we're kind of tired of it. Even Freya has taken to flopping on the floor to cool off, Petey's on top of a bookcase by the window enjoying the little bit of breeze that's coming in. So, I'll be working on bears as much as I can tolerate today. My neighbor has doctor's appointments and another appointment to do paperwork, so it should be kind of quiet. My big project for the morning is to make a jug of iced tea. I'm going through that like crazy. Not too much food, but plenty of fluids. Of course I was that way when I was overseas so it's not too unexpected, a bit surprising though. I thought I had outgrown it. So, that's what's going on from the California front. I'll update you all if something astounding, or even interesting happens. Everyone have a wonderful day from the three of us, Toni, Petey and Freya
