They don't know that I walk slower.

The map app on my phone does not know that I am partly handicapped and walk slower at times. I was checking to see the distance between my home and the eye doctors office and it said 1.2 miles. I looked to see it was a 4 minute drive. Now they don't know I am slower like I said. But is said the walking time for 1.2 miles is 3 hours and 9 minutes, lol Even me limping I can walk faster than that. Crazy map!

The map app must be a cousin to the voice app that my daughter has in her car. It takes her round and round until she decides to do it by herself.

Yep, some of those things take you on the scenic route for sure. But this one said 1.2 miles, 4 minutes to drive and 3 hours and 9 minutes to walk. It didn't even take 4 minutes to drive, lol

@dfollin I have gone in 2 Uber cars that were not taking me to my home because of the app. At one point they were ordered to turn left and I had to tell them that my house mean turning right.

They meant to make you feel good about yourself, I suppose. Unless they know something we don't know, like a pedestrian traffic jam or something. Also, a 4 minute drive for 1.2 miles sounds like a lot too, but it might be due to a speed limit?

My daughter drove me this morning and picked me back up. It was maybe 4 minutes both ways. But even both ways it wouldn't of taken 3 hours and 9 minutes walking, even me walking. They didn't know to make me feel good because the map doesn't know I have disabilities. lol

@sabtraversa No, it didn't take us 4 minutes to drive for 1.2 miles. A toddler probably could, yes.

@dfollin Then the driving times now make sense, while walking is still a mystery. Right, the "you" was meant to be impersonal. I think even a toddler could walk faster than 0.4 miles per hour. It doesn't make any sense to come up with that speed unless they wanted to make people feel as if they were professional athletes running a marathon.

I believe they have calculated average speed of all the slow walkers and decided to assume to consider slowest of the slowest one

But they don't know I am a slow walker. Someone told me that sometimes the map apps give a different way to walk so that part might be longer. But that still doesn't explain driving 1.2 miles will take 4 minutes, lol
