Ford, You Did it Again

Ford Motor Company is a stock I have owned for decades, and the one thing about it, that is sometimes annoying, is that it's just never been an exciting stock by any stretch of the imagination. In all the years I have owned it, it has rarely ever been over $20 a share, and seems to average out around $9-$15 a share. In fact, I bought a share with a certificate many, many years ago when my nephew was young and paid $9 for it. Considering the stock has never split since I have owned it and is trading now around $12, that's not much to write home about. Still, I like the company, and it does pay a fair dividend. The stock will tank today once the markets open up due to a bad earnings call after the markets closed yesterday. But I will be adding some shares, nonetheless. I was actually at a profit before the bell, and had thought about selling the position and starting over. I probably should have done that, and could have bought new shares at a discount today while realizing the profits I had on paper yesterday. Oh well.

I'm not the sharing kind when it comes to money, but I am ALWAYS willing to teach, which I do. The problem with that is that people don't want the advice. They just want the money. The problem with THAT is if they never take the advice? They will never have the money. lol

@porwest it maybe cause they are too leery about taking such a leap in something they don't trust.

@2ndchances24 Trust or lack thereof is based on KNOWLEDGE. If you don't trust it, you don't understand it. The stock market has long been THE source for the greatest wealth ever created. You can't simply say, "it's not trustworthy." All you can say is, "I don't know, and I never bothered to learn how money is actually made." If you don't own things that produce wealth, you will never have money. It's that simple.

And how. Although, I know Ford's stock will come back, so, buying more shares seems like a really good idea even if Ford will NEVER be an exciting stock with a lot of upside.
