All Because of A SUBWAY Sandwich

Yesterday, there was a fraudulent charge on my debit card, for a SUBWAY (the restaurant) in Maryland. Who needs a SUBWAY sandwich THAT bad, really? Anyway, I reported it to my bank's fraud department, and hopefully that'll be the end of that. Seeing as all my bills were previously paid on that card, having to get it replaced (and notifying all my bill collectors) is going to be a bloody pain, but I gotta do what I gotta do. Seriously though, all this over a freaking sandwich. Ridiculous.

That DOES seem a bit ridiculous. I am sure they were just testing the card. If it worked at Subway it would work somewhere else. Just my two cents.

It's thankfully already frozen (replacement on the way to me) my bank got everything resolved pretty quickly. @porwest

@jnrdutton It's still a pain in the butt, for the very reasons you stated. I've had it happen a couple of times and getting a new card with a new number, especially if things are attached to it, is a real pain.

@porwest, I'm sorry it happened to you. Yeah, the biggest concern I have is if any of my bills end up paid late because of this situation. Hopefully not, hopefully my new card is quick to arrive before they're due.

A lot of times the person who has your credit card number will "try" a small charge to see if it goes through...then they start making the big charges. It's good that you reported the charge. Have a good weekend.

Ah, hadn't exactly thought about that! @LindaOHio, but you make a good point. Glad I alerted the fraud department right away then. You have a good weekend as well.

That is so odd! What a charge to cause that much trouble.

Yup exactly, + if they're risking possibly going to jail for debit/bank fraud, they should have made it worth their while, I think. Go big or go home. (That's sarcasm I don't at all endorse what they did, just saying.) @AmbiePam

Every day hackers and the like are getting more able to take other peopleĀ“s money.

It's easier to get a fraudulent charge erased from Credit Cards.

Sorry that someone stole your information and made a fraudulent sale on it.
