Animal rescuers save a kitten that was on a highway in Colorado

Employees of the Humane Society of the Pikes Peaks Region in Colorado answered an emergency call when a small kitten named Barney was seen running on Interstate 25 on Friday July 5..
Law enforcement officers Lieutenant Napieralski and Sergeant Michon were able to catch Barney who running on the interstate before something bad happened to the kitten.
When Barney was saved by the two law enforcement officers, Barney was given water, food and kibble before Barney took a nap and was taken to an animal shelter where hopefully he will be adopted by a loving family soon.
The best part of the rescue was that the weather in the area was around 90 degrees Fahrenheit at the time when Barney was rescued.

How did they know that his name was Barney? But maybe he had a way of knowing who his owner was. Then he does not need to be adopted. Luna has something under her skin with her name and other such things. She can be traced to me.

I guess the officers gave the cat the name Barney based on his looks.

Sweet little Barney. Silly cat running on the highway. I bet he was a tired fellow. I hope he gets adopted.

That poor kitten was thrown out, by some jerk of a driver! The heat would have killed Barney, being without water:(

It was fortunate that someone reported that, as a lot of people might not even notice a kitten running on a highway.
It must have been still not too bad in the heat, to still be running, but the fact that they were able to catch him easily, indicates he might have been ready to run out of puff too.
