7/26/24 - Update on My Husband

Not much chance of getting the physical therapy records in time to send to the judge. When I called yesterday, Nancy said, "Oh! I thought you didn't want those!". That's a bunch of BS. She will call when they are ready; but if it's not today during post office hours, it won't reach Missouri in time.
Hubby is still working really hard in PT. He said he wishes they would have done this a long time ago. He would be home by now. He still thinks he may be home in a week.
I talked to his 2nd cousin about being a home health aide. She said we can talk more about it, but she said that she has a blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, etc. and could take my husband's vitals. She could cook us some meals, pick up pizza and Chinese....I mentioned this to my husband; and he said, "Yeah!" There are other things that she could help him with too. She said she would be able to pack up all his things and move him out when the time comes.

@FourWalls Someone made a suggestion that I call the judge's team and see if they will wait for the records. I will do that.

I would have 2nd cousin on stand by when he comes home so she can see where he needs assistance and if it is something she can handle. I am sure you are very excited about the idea of him coming home.

These people sure don't seem to be of much help to you. I think that that hospital made a lot of money just housing your husband and now, finally, they are getting some PT going on. I would be so frustrated by now.
Sounds like his 2nd causing could be a lot of help. I hope all of that works out. My thoughts are with you both and wish you the best.

What a shame that you probably won't have the PT papers in time to send.
Certainly sounds like everything is finally moving along and falling into place. I think we're all going to have to celebrate when your hubby comes home.

@LindaOHio So the bills have been piling up from May 11th to current, and unpaid by insurance? That’s horrible. I hope they rule in your favor.

@moffittjc No. We have been self-pay since then. We pay $300 per day from May 11th to the present time.

It is for the final appeal. They cut the insurance off as of May 11; and the judge has to have the records by July 29 so she can make her decision.

Having someone you know and trust is a big deal. Some insurances will pay for the home health aid help. It is so much better, and cheaper than a care facility.

You can become a licensed home health aide I think. If she was a recognized Aide, insurance would pay for her I think.
