Power Was Out This Morning

Oh, how annoying it is when the power goes out. Not sure what happened. We didn't have any storms last night or anything. Perhaps a squirrel got fried on a transformer? It's a possibility.
Nonetheless, we noticed around 130am the power had gone out and it was still out this morning when we got up around 5am.
Luckily, I had a little bit of coffee left in the pot and was able to warm it up on the stove, which is gas and I lit it with a lighter. Later I had to steep some on the stove from a hotel packet I had—there's more than one reason I keep those.
Funny, I fired up the generator, which is just a little 1200 watt one, and usually we can run the wi-fi, TV, cable box and a fan and even a lamp all together and it works like a charm. As soon as I plugged in the coffee pot it tripped it out.
I unplugged everything and fired up the generator again and just ran ONLY the coffee pot, and it tripped every time I turned it on.
You mean to tell me that a coffee uses THAT much power? Good grief.
In any event, the power went back on around 7am and I will tell you, there's something glorious about seeing the clocks blink and hearing the refrigerator kick in and the air fire back up.
Electricity is definitely one of those amenities that is VERY difficult to live without in these modern times we live in.

Oh, that sounds so frustrating! It's always a mystery when the power goes out without an obvious cause. Glad to hear the power finally came back on. There's definitely something magical about everything whirring back to life.

@porwest Power outages can be so annoying, especially when you don't know the reason behind them. At least it's back now, and hopefully, it stays that way!

@annierose Yeah, this was one like that. We had no high winds, no storms. Nothing. I can only assume maybe a squirrel got fried on a transformer or something.

Dig into those deep pockets and get yourself a standby generator. We can run everything on it and it uses natural gas so it doesn't have to be refilled. Best thing we ever bought, especially with me being home alone. Have a good weekend.
