Single Moms Versus Single Dads

After reading the comments on my post "How Would a Man Feel?" I began to wonder how many more single moms are out there scratching for a living to raise their kids as opposed to single dads. Out of 11 million single-parent households, there are 80% led by moms and 20% led by fathers. In the year 2023, there were only 3.05 million children living with a single father but 15.09 million children living with a single mom. So single fathers constitute 16% of single-parent families. Women need the money more than men do. They need to bring home a wage close to what men do. Just for FYI-- I raised my daughter in the 70s with no child support ever from her dad. He was supposed to pay $75 a month. Never saw it.

My mom was a single mom and got only $50 a month for me AND my brother total. Such bull. But yes, far more single moms. Mostly because moms do it all and dad's don't want to.

Only a coulple of years ago, there was a new law in my country that made fathers really pay child support. Still fathers learned of ways to skip it. One of my friends used to say that when fathers divorced mothers, they became uncles of their children at the most.

Really made them huh? Pretty sorry affair when you have to make a parent pay. That last sentence is so true. Never thought of it in exactly those terms but sure makes sense.
