As the saying goes what "goes up must come down." So, I'm going to "drill down" on some more of my favorite "down-titled" songs to share. Perhaps these tunes strike a chord with you too. Your comments and musings on these picks, and your own favorite "Up or Down" titled songs or music trivia always welcome... ***DOWN UNDER- MEN AT WORK (1982) -I'm betting Australians loved this #1 tune about "The Land Down Under." I did, and I had no idea what a "Vegemite sandwich" was... A great song with many other Aussie terms included in the lyrics. Many have interpreted this track as a nationalistic celebration of Australia but in actually, it was also a message about the overdevelopment of the country and greed too. *Do you like this song? How about Men At Work's other hit tune "Who Can it Be Now?" TRIVIA CHALLENGE ***Now for our trivia music challenge for those who like to play along. See if you can guess the artists, songs or facts. Words in "quote marks" provide valuable clues! 1. This Country artist had a crossover hit with this 1979 song about "Satan who visited the state of Georgia" to have a "violin (fiddle) contest" against a fellow named "Johnny." At stake was "Johnny's soul against a golden fiddle." Well, the challenge ended with Johnny beating the Satan and saying, "Devil, just come on back if you ever wanna try again, I done told you once you son of a bitc..., I'm the best that's ever been" -Do you know the name of this Country performer and his "down-titled song?' 2. "Runnin Down a Dream" was a track on this artist's 1989 solo album "Full Moon Fever." The song includes the line "Me and Del were singin,' little 'Runaway," a reference to the 1961 Del Shannon hit "Runaway." You might know this artist from this popular song with the "Heartbreakers" called "American Girl." This musician was part of another famous group when this solo album was released called "The Traveling Wilburys." -Do you know the name of this artist and his "down-titled song?" 3. This "Disco band" could really "get down" with that boogie sound, their music was so prominent in the mid to late 70's. For those who love Disco this tune is a ray of "Sunshine" from the group "whose name starts with the initials KC." As the song says, "do a little dance, make a little love," get __________________. How many of you put your "Boogie Shoes" on (another classic by this band) and danced the "night" away to this tune! -Do you know the name of this band and their "down-titled song?" Ok, let's "lock down" some correct songs and artists answers. If you're stuck and need additional hints just let me know in your response. I'll be glad to supply one. Or, as the Little River Band would say, "Help is on the Way." Thanks for reading and responding to my music post!!! I will return with a new edition in the near future. Hope you can wait till then, lol. Stay tuned... Source- Wikipedia & songfacts.com

I like “It’s a Mistake” by Men At Work as well. 1. Chuckie Daniels! Took place in Georgia because it was too hot in Louisiana. 2. I won’t back down from telling you that his middle name was Earl! (Line from “A Mind With a Heart of Its Own.”) got to ever-so-briefly meet Petty after I saw him in 1982. “Hi, Tom.” “Hey.” 3. Harry Wayne Casey, hence the “K.C.” of the band’s name. Gotta tell ya, they didn’t bring much sunshine to me. I will say they helped hone my “name that tune” skills, because I could recognize one of their songs in 3-4 notes and turn the radio to a different station.
