I used to wonder why I didn't care for peaches. I've thought and thought and couldn't come up with good reasoning on this. I have had fresh peaches and, though messy, they are delicious. I've also had canned peaches and they are good too. So why don't I care for them? Thinking back over my years and the stories I remember that my grandmother and my mom told me I finally came up with the reason. When I was only about 6 months old my dad had finished his stint in the Navy. He and my mom started the trek back home to Boise, Idaho from Bremerton, Washington, and the Naval Base there. Now that is an 8 - 10 hour trip and about 541 miles. That does take some gas. Mom and Dad didn't have a lot of money so the greater part of the dollars had to go for gas. That didn't leave a lot for baby food. Mom had several jars of canned peaches and that was my complete diet( and probably theirs) for the entire trip. And, that is why I don't care much for peaches.

That will do it. Overexposure. Forced consumption.

Surprising that something from when you were 6 months old would affect you. Have a good day.

I really love in-season fresh peaches. Canned, not so much at all. Way too syrup-y and I don't care for the texture, either.
