I Wonder.

When the çovid epidemic was at its height, anyonè who sneezed or coughed in public would most likely receive dirty looks from those close by. I wonder if that still happens. Again, during the epidemic closeness was taboo. You didn't shake hands and certainly no hugs. I wonder how much strain was put on relationships old and new because of that particular rule - breaking it could send you to the grave... What other aspects of our life would you say covid messed up. Do you think another one as bad as covid is in the future? Pixabay image

Things remain the same to a certain extent. If you cough or sneeze in the public, people stay away from you immediately. Some people are still wearing masks. According to some experts here, there will be another pandemic like Covid in the future.

I hope it won't be soon . l remember reading that passengers put a man off the bus when he sneezed.

I pray there is never a pandemic like Covid again. It felt so unnatural to not shake hands or hug. Hugs and handshakes are still uncomfortable at times now.

It would be difficult to forget covid especially for those who have had it and those who have lost loved ones. And of course, it is still here.

If I had to isolate alone, I might have gone into hug withdrawal. But my dad and stepmom were like, no, you’ve got us, and we won’t hear of you staying away. Also, I always felt like if I was careful, I’d most likely be okay. I’m not worried we’ll face another Covid. I just can’t operate like that, plus it feels like we always have a plague of a disease every 100 years. The Spanish Flu being last century’s hellish disease. And we learn from each crisis. Next time we’ll be even more prepared, if there is a next time.

You are right, if there is a next time we will be even more prepared. Because of what happened in the past, the powers that be were able to come up with a vaccine much sooner than was expected.

Oh so many. I went with a broken tooth in my mouth for quite a long period of time because I couldn't get into the dentist's office.

@Kandae11 I am surprised she didn't cancel you. All the health care professionals were canceling things here even surgeries that were critical. It was really demoralizing.

I canceled an eye exam because it meant getting very close to the optician.

There are some places that I still feel very uncomfortable since covid. I do not feel comfortable touching a shopping cart, nor going to church, nor eating out in a restaurant.

I still wear a mask if l will be in a crowded place. I watch the crowds at the various olympic events currently on and l am thinking what a big difference from the last one in Japan.

@Kandae11 I still carry a mask in my purse and there are a couple in each of our vehicles. Sometimes when you go into a medical professional office, they require them here. Sometimes you just want one for your own peace of mind.

Masks, isolation, drop and go groceries. I really hope nothing like that happens again. Isolation depression hit me hard. I was so glad when the masks came off and we could socialize again.

Oh so much has changed Kandase. Many many things. For instance now, a sneeze is a sign for me to run far away from someone.

I heard on one of the News shows that education was screwed up. More youth now are behind in reading and math. And concerning another bad pandemic coming, it would not surprise me at all if it happens in October of this year (if you get what I am referring to).

October this year? You got me there. I agree, the education system took a bit hit. Some kids didn't return to school after the long stay at home.

It gave anxiety-ridden me the feeling that I am safer in my small apartment with my two cats than outside and now I am more in than out,

A lot of persons feel that way too. When the all clear was given to go back to the office instead of working at home, some opted to continue working from home.

Closeness still makes me a bit uncomfortable when I'm in public. I don't stand close to someone anymore but I've gone back to hugs for family and friends. I hope and pray we don't have another pandemic

We must be careful as Covid is still around - it is not business as usual. With countries messing up the environment, we cannot rule out some that can even wipe out humanity. We hardly agree even for basic survival.
