Are you close with your parents?

My parents are both still alive but I don't think I'm very close with them because for one thing, I'm married. And another I live in another country from my parents.
My sister used to call them every morning, I was told by my mom. I wish I can do that but what would I talk to her about? I'm not close to her.
My children also never call me every day. They only call me if there's news.
What about you? Do you call your parents every day?

My parents have passed long time ago. My Dad passed when I was only 11. I had a very close relationship with my mom.

What do you talk about? My parents are closed in and they don't express their love for their children openly so when I call them, I really don't know what to talk about except maybe about the weather. I always feel that if I were to call them I'm intruding on their privacy. We were never encouraged to express ourselves openly growing up. Emotions are bad in my family.

@jstory07 I guess you mostly talk to your mom for advice? I used to call my mom to ask her for recipes and also sometimes talk about my children but now that there are so many YT cooking videos and my children are all grown up, I don't have any topic to talk to her and we just simply drifted apart.

I generally call my parents once a week. I'll usually visit them once a week as well (calling them to let them know who's going over and sort out what we're having for dinner). We all live in the same town. I guess you could say we're close but I don't consider myself emotionally close to them. I don't go to them with problems. If I tell them news, my mum isn't interested. My dad usually is but he forgets everything!

I live with my mother even after i got married because she has noone to be with so i decided not to live apart from her. I cannot say that we are super close, right now she is in another province and i don't call her everyday. maybe every other week, i message her just to check on her. My father do not live with us anymore and it's complicated.
