How long can you talk over the phone?

So far as I am concerned, it'll run to half an hour max. My sister is talking over 5 hours now. It's raining cats and dogs since yesterday. So when we started from home for work as no 'rainy day' was declared and she found that the message was sent just as she reached, she got furious. Spending money unnecessarily on public transport especially for nothing, pinches. She was veritably angry when I came to collect her. I could not proceed as the roads disappeared under water. She soothed herself with some clove and cardamom milk tea and then called someone up. The rain outside and her vents inside...huff!!! I'm literally going breathless as I can't go out because of the rain. Called up my friend in Australia and chatted with her over phone for sometime. That's it. Here her frustrations over many other things over school management has not ended still. It's almost lunch time. Do you too talk at a stretch for so long?

I can talk to my eldest sister for hours but my younger sister, No. Because she doesn't like to waste time so she'll call me on the phone and talk about what she wants to talk about and then she'll just say goodbye. My eldest sister and I are chatterbox. When we start to talk, we just can't stop. We will always have something to talk about.

If it is a friend that I have not talked to in a long time I talk for an hour or more.

@apsmine9 No such strategies but I would remind her/him that we are already talking for long hours and I also need to do other things

I have talked to my sister in law around two hours before on the phone. She is a big talker and it's hard to get off the phone with her.

With some people, I think, one can go on talking. Time does not matter.

Only a few minutes on the phone for me! Even 30 minutes is a bit much for me, never mind 5 hours!

I do talk to my elder son for an hour sometimes. Rains are creating havoc throughout India.

Yes, that's understandable as he is your son and he is not there with you. You being a mother will definitely have things to know, discuss. Rains have stalled work, created havoc. It's like the drops are singing, 'We have our time now'.

It depends on the person. I have a best friend. I can talk to her the whole day

Lately I've been lazy to talk on the phone, if possible I ask people who want to contact me to only do so via message, I think that's more effective
