The Power Went Out

United States
August 3, 2024 1:01pm CST
I was sitting here, and all of a sudden the power went out. At first I didn't pay it much attention, I looked at the clock, and it was totally black, then I noticed the air was blowing. What time to lose power. It is so hot. I called a neighbor, she had lights. I called another neighbor who lives closer to me, and she didn't have any either. It was dark for it to be in the daytime. I can only imagine if it was at night. I had a little fan I bought from Amazon it had a light and a fan on it. That's a helpless feeling. After awhile we heard the light people come up our road. In a while they came back on. Sure ruined my day. I'm just happy to be cooling off.

I've had that happen before. One place we lived we'd lose power if the wind blew wrong.

@popciclecold We once lost power for a couple days because some idiot drove their car into a power pole.

We now have a standby generator so that doesn't happen. I'm sorry you lost power for a while. Have a good day.

We just had a wind storm (the worst in my life) and we were out of energy for over 24 hours. It is awful. Disconnect everything. When the energy comes again it can destroy your appliances.

@popciclecold One of Dixie´s daughters had to seek help at Dixie´s house as her neighbor´s roof fell on her house and left her with no electricity nor water.

I heard that there are storms battering parts of the US, is that what knocked out your power?

Yes, the price of so many people using air conditioners to cool us off. I had that happen to me recently and just finished some yardwork. Ugh!
