Olympics and flags

How many flags do you recognize, other than your own country's flag, of course. I can recognize quite a few...though I will have to pull up the list of flags and count the flags I recognize. LOL The credit goes to these sports.... if I was asked to remember those flags, I might not have...but when I look at the sports person and the country they are identified with, it kinda registers in mind. What about you? How did you end up remembering the flags of your neighboring countries?

I don't know very many. The 'ordinary' ones which are just two or three colours are hard to remember but some are quite distinctive. I like our flag and also Canada's flag.

Canada's is easy...as is yours because yours represents the number of States I think. Japan..white with red central circle ..difficult to forget. The only flag that is not rectangular in shape...Nepal. You have been there. Evil Grin. I watch Badminton regularly, so South Korea, Denmark, Indonesia, and Malaysia flags..honestly, Malaysia is by elimination principle. LOL If it is not this country then it must be Malaysia...since Chinese flag, and Chinese Taipei are also easily identifiable. I identify Singapore flag because of Indonesian flag. Kinda, red up with five stars and moon crescent, must be Singapore player. Indonesian flag is inverse of Poland flag. In Italy's flag, we have three vertical bands, green white and red. Change the green to blue, we get the French flag. LOL Change the red in Italy's flag to orange, it becomes Ireland's flag. I remember them like that. Its quite fun for me to test my memory like that.

I've never been that good at remembering flags. I'd memorise capital cities and random facts, but not flags! I'd recognise some that I've seen often or that stand out as unusual in some way. I've recently been playing a game called Worldle You get a country and have to recognise it by shape. There are several rounds, one of which is the flag. I've learnt many more flags from that (although my memory is not great so I forget many as well).

Oh great. Yes, capital cities and states...I use them sometimes to keep my memory cells active. I would like to try that Worldle game too. But players and flags are easy to associate.

It's just a matter of repetition. Some are easy to recognize such as Japan. Have a good day.

You change the white background of Japan flag to green, it becomes Bangladesh flag. The most difficult ones to remember for me are those Scandinavian countries........I remember Denmark. Others are not so easy for me to remember, primarily because designs are the same for almost all of them, with only variation in colors. Then it is confusing. LOL Switzerland is easy too. Central plus sign on blood red background. You too have a good day.

@grenery8 Those too. I wish myLot would find a way to let us show our flags beside our profiles..and they would come up along with the avatar....You know it would be so interesting to know what people from each country think about an issue.
