Do you think Donald Trump will drop out of the presidential race in the US?

By now, most you us have watched at least bits and pieces of Trump's disastrous "press conference" a day or two ago. He swayed back and forth, compared his and MLK's "crowd sizes," appeared not to know anything about the Governor of Pennsylvania who almost became J.D. Vance's opponent, lied about Kamala Harris's stance on Israel, and on and on. His dementia is on full display and is hard to deny. The latest buzz is that Trump might have to step down from the race, as Joe Biden did, or that he might be forced out of the race by his fellow Republicans. My post a few days ago about which Republican you would most like to see running against Harris may have been prescient. I wonder if Las Vegas has "odds" about Trump staying in the race. As a political Moderate leaning slightly Right, I would consider a non-MAGA Republican candidate IFF (not a typo) they had clear policy ideas and vowed NOT to pardon Trump. But back to my original question: Do you think Trump will drop out, or be forced out, of the US presidential race?

Would Republicans force him out? It feels like he has "dirt" on a lot of people, especially Bill Barr.

@NJChicaa I may have already asked you this, but have you read about the 2016 Trump/Egypt scandal? Barr squashed the investigation when he was Trump's AG in 2018 or so.

He is trying to stay out of prison and he is arrogant so nope. IF this was Biden acting like Trump is, he would have been hauled out.

I am glad Biden had the dignity to say, essentially, "I am tired. Enough." He may go down as one of the great presidents in American history.

@jaylar I may be too old to see how the history books portray Biden in 20 years.

I really doubt that Trump will give up on his own. His ego won't let him. He lies about being in perfect health and all of that and the brainwashed believe him and would probably throw a fit if he was made to step down. I don't see him going easily. Kicking and screaming would be more like it.

Are there Republicans with enough balls/ovaries to demand he step down? If a non-MAGA Conservative ran, I would listen carefully to what they said.

@TheHorse They are too afraid to I think. If they did a lot of voters wouldn't bother voting that believe he is god. And that's after they are done trying to kill the ones that threw him out

I don't know where you get your info from, but I don't see what your talking about cause he's drawing MORE voters to his side than EVER B-4 in 20 16 & 2020. Forbs breaking news is showing trump has a BIG lead on the dems by a LONG shot.

@JudyEv It's odd to me that I was "waxing conservative" right before Trump came on the scene in 2015/2016. By the time the American Republican Party gets its act back together (assuming it has not been destroyed beyond repair), I will be a pretty old person.

The voters should consider not only how he is now but also down the line for four more years. It will not be a pretty sight to get elected if one is not mentally alert and in control of mental faculties.

Trump has a strong leadership foundation, as a businessman he is so solid and stable. But it is undeniable that he has many political opponents who are ready to bring him down, I think he will not be affected by that, I am sure he will not back down an inch

@jaylar And yet people from Iowa, where they grow for a lot of soy beans, voted for him in 2020 and might vote for him in 2024.

@TheHorse He never had a clue. Rem when he started the 'trade war' with China? He had no idea that most soy beans grown in the US were bought by China. When China ceased to buy we got bags for pennies and fed the beans to chickens and the price of chicken here dropped by half. He had no idea that many lobsters caught in the US were bought by China. So when China ceased to buy, we didn't have a lobster left. He knows nothing of world events, esp. not trade.
