Our alarm test and inspection has been rescheduled for next Wednesday, August 14th, if everything goes right. I'm not going to hold my breath. I have two doctors appointments to reschedule. One was with the pain clinic yesterday. I was SO lucky, I walked the three miles to where the place was supposed to be (I asked a person who works in the area) I ran into another person who told me I was going the wrong direction and needed to walk 6 miles the other direction. I only made it 4 miles before I gave out. I caught the bus home without making it to the appointment. Then I was supposed to see my primary care physician...I waited for over an hour and there was no bus that showed up. I had a BAD case of heat prostration and decided that I didn't want to end up in the hospital so I came back into the apartment and rested in front of the fans, I was too light headed and sick to try to do anything. I'll have to call both doctors and explain and apologize. I don't usually flake on a doctor's appointment, unless the doctor is a real "A" hole and I'm planning to dump them
So, I am going to try to reschedule the appointments and hopefully the alarm test and inspection will go off as planned. I'm planning to work on the furs I have waiting for lining so that I can safely make them into Teddy Bears and other critters. I am planning to donate some of the profits to animal welfare programs around the world. I read about one a couple of days ago that almost had me crying like a baby.
So, Sunday will be a work day, sorting the real furs from the acrylic and lining the real furs leather. Have a great weekend, I am going to stretch out and hopefully get my back, neck, and legs feeling a bit better. I hope that the rest of you have a fun weekend and plan a special treat for yourself. I'm going to my very favorite thrift shop to get lining material for the furs. (Oh, don't get upset, the real furs are upcycled from vintage furs. I don't use new furs for my critters. The mohair is from sheared mohair goats. They are NOT harmed in the shearing!!! And the acrylic fur is faux or fake fur from processed oil by products.)
Years ago I had a very dear friend ask me where Mohair came from. My brain kicked in and I came up with a very convincing story that had my Mom laughing until she was crying. I looked my friend right in the eye and told her this tale...Mohair comes from little Mo's that live in the Rocky Mountains. Once a year they have a Mo round up. The cowboys ride up into the mountains on their horses and herd the Mos down to the corrals. They then shear the Mo's and collect the hair. (That's why anything that is made out of Mo hair is so expensive.} I went on to tell her that people come from all over the world just to attend the Mo round up. There are parades, rodeos, dances, a Miss Mo pageant and so much more. My Mom totally lost her self control and laughed like crazy when my friend stated in all seriousness that she had to schedule her vacation for the Mo round up. Mom had to leave the room and close herself in the bathroom and have a good laugh.
About two hours later my dear friend suddenly looked at me and stated "There is no such thing as a Mo Round-up is there?????" I heard a loud 'snort' from my Mom's direction and I had to come clean and tell her that there really was no such thing as a Mo Round-up. We all had a good laugh and my friend asked if she could tell the story at work.

That was a good Mo story that you told your friend.
I used to tell young adults that chocolate milk was made from brown cows and white milk was made from white cows. 75% of them believed me.

If you manage to tell the story with a straight face they'll believe you! Mom had to leave the room because she thought she'd give me away if she was seen laughing.
I used to tell that the brown cows giving chocolate milk, white cows giving white milk and black cows giving dark chocolate milk. People would go through the cattle barns at the fair and naturally would ask about the milk.
If you can tell a far fetched story with a straight face people will believe it.
