GOOD EATS!

No, no, it's a phrase I use often to describe food. But it's not something I coined. Remember that show Alton Brown did on The Food Network, or one of those cooking channels?
He showed you the science behind good food, and the show was called, "Good Eats."
But for our first night at the campground, we got the camper all set up and my wife's cousin Lorie met up with us. We decided to just eat out the first night before hitting up Walmart to "supply up" for the weekend.
We went to a place called the Iron Spike Brewing Company in Galesburg, IL, and this was the second time my wife and I had been there. It was even better this time around.
I had the 'shroom and onion burger (as shown in the picture) with an IPA and some house fries. Wifey had a taco salad with a margarita and her cousin Lorie had a cheeseburger with house fries and a Malibu Rum and Diet Coke.
As the title suggests, it was GOOD EATS!
Even better than the meal is that her cousin decided to pay the bill. This was a win-win, even though I told her she did NOT have to buy dinner, but she felt it was her way of saying thanks for letting her stay in our camper with us.

@2ndchances24 It's always like that after any kind of trip or vacation. You ALMOST need a vacation from IT. lol

It is, actually. Usually check in at the campgrounds is around 2pm. In this case we had a bit more than a three hour drive. And of course, there's lots to do when pulling like going to get the camper, taking up the stabilizers, hitching up and attaching the sway bars, and of course the driving is different since you have 8000 pounds and 39 feet following you.
Then you get there and you have to do everything in reverse to get disconnected, then hook up the sewer pipe, connect the water, hook up to shore power, and then you have to go and get some food and things that are impractical to take along necessarily.
By the time all is said and done it's probably 3 or 4 o'clock and it has already felt like a long day. Typically, if it's just the wife and I we might just throw some quick hot dogs on the grill. But with company along, that just doesn't do the trick.

@everwonderwhy I like them a multitude of ways. Just not the waffle ones Chick-Fil-A serves. They can keep those.

Food always tastes better when it's free. Have a good week.
