Internet vs Intelligence

I assumed the Internet would increase intelligence. Information available on numerous sites, the ability to research any topic without leaving your seat suggested we were on our way for a leap of brilliance.
That didn't happen.
People automatically believe 'influencers' to the extent that truth is rejected.
They limit their investigation of a topic to 'Wikipedia', the least reliable site on the 'Net.
.
One expected those on the 'Net to have at least a basic grasp of reality, to have some understanding of facts.
Nope.

While largely true, when you realize the current generation, it's a bit unfair to say. If you know how to research properally, and don't just go with what fits your beliefs, then the internet is a powerful tool. Wakipida isn't all bad. However, when you realize literally anyone can create an account and post what they want, then it's easy to assume that it's unrealible. But, it can be, if you know how to use it correctly.

@jaylar Again, depends on what you're reading. In fact, wikipidia is often the first referenced when you look up some material. You have to take literally everything you read online with a grain of salt, and find multible sorces if you're in doubt. Often times, Wikipida had confirmed what I'd learned from another sorce. It's called using your head. And, not taking everything at face value.

@kaylachan what I found, if I look up certain 'controversal' subjects.. the facts change. They 'match' this moment's acceptable.

Exactly -Whatever you see and listen from internet may not be true! You can read or listen to anything but you need to analyse if these are true. In case, do research and see if things what are spoken are true. Again, we should never ever believe in influencers .We should use our due diligence and that would help us to move forward. Intelligence develops when we increase our observing and analysing skills. It is not derived from reading or listening. That should be what people should understand and put across.
