I've considered it on and off over the years, but that'd mean I'd have to care about my grammar and spelling. Not to say that I don't care, but sometimes I want to write and not have to think about it. Yes, I know spell check options like Grammarly exist, but using them with a screen reader is hit-or-miss.

It sounds like you enjoy writing without focusing too much on grammar and spelling. While tools like Grammarly can help, they might not always work well with screen readers. Perhaps you could consider writing drafts freely and then using a proofreading tool or asking someone else to review it for you.

I have written few books. But the royalty rate is very low it is around 10% of the cost of the book. So author gets very less on sale of books

It’s true that many authors receive a relatively small percentage from book sales due to the way royalty structures are set up. This can be discouraging, especially for those who put a lot of effort into their writing. It might be worth exploring other publishing options or negotiating terms if possible, as well as considering alternative revenue streams like speaking engagements or self-publishing.

@ideaforge yes the monetary reward is not proportional to the effort

It was all good in the past, less competitors and no AI stuff. I went on hiatus though. Maybe about 8 years ago when mother-in-law got sick and it's only a few of us taking care of her. Writing is still in my heart but I still seem to find it hard getting back to it.

Yes, and I make a fair amount from it. Not life changing money, mind you, but far more than I ever thought would be possible. The thing is, it takes years to build a loyal and interested audience. But once you do, it has a payoff. But it's NOT an overnight thing. You have to keep writing even when no money at all comes in.

I have been a writer and blogger for considerable time. I have had luck in pockets, earning some dollars but not consistent and not in three digits in any case. I have also been on and off with blogging as earning through writing and blogging is not easy. There is lot of competition and tough to get established as it takes atleast 2 years to understand the situation. While writing for others, the rates are low but then you can make some money although not consistent always. Earning just by blogging is not possible in the current world. So for me, earning from blogging has been on and off but have not made any significant earnings as well.
