Good afternoon.

It's just after 1:30 in the after noon and the sky is clouding up. Our break from our daily afternoon thunderstroms appears to be short-lived. George is doing fine. I got him to take all his meds for the time being. Friday will have been a week since Chilly has found his home over rainbow bridge, and it feels odd not talking about his antics. Part of me can't help but think, that we did this to him because kept having to shove him off to the side or lock him up a lot more then we normally would've.

Chilly didn't understand, that George's health takes a first priority.

@kaylachan Now, Chilly looks down from Heaven and he sees, George and you are doing better each day! You will be reunited with Chilly, some day:)

@kobesbuddy I know we will be. Doesn't make any of this any easier.

So sorry about Chilly. I still haven't quite gotten over Angel.

Yeah, I know. I don't think you ever will. You wound up having to put her down, which is the worst in my opinion.

No, he wasn't. He grew up with us and was the only cat for the last two years of his life. I still feel kind of guilty because for the past seven months or so, I've had to push Chilly off to the side or leave him to his own deviceses when I was at the hospital with George. Taking him to the vet may or may not have made a difference, but George and I chose not to take him.
I think George feared it would be Mama cat all over again. That we'd dump all this money only to have to put him down. We decided to let nature take its course. If we thought for a second Chilly was suffering at all, we would've gotten him to the vet even if we had to walk.
Doesn't change the fact I feel bad about not being able to give him the time and attention he deserved.

@just4him That's true. He always wanted to be lap cat. Even when we couldn't let him.

@kaylachan Animals are amazing creatures. They know when things aren't right, and they need to take a back seat. They are always there to comfort you when you need it. It's their way of showing you how much they love you. I know when I wasn't feeling good my dog would lay right next to me on the bed, and it wasn't long before I was my old self again. Chilly was there when you needed him, right where he needed to be.

Don't blame yourself for Chilly's demise. You said he was quite old, didn't you?

Cats do require attention, yes, but they aren't like dogs. Often times they're happy just cuddling with us and being left alone otherwise. One of Chilly's favorite spots was the space behind the couch against the window where he could sun himself.

Feeling guilty won't help ease the pain, and I'm so sorry. We do the best we can with what we have.

I am sure you did the very best for Chily and his loving vibes surround you. I am glad George is doing well and I hope soon he can return to regular eating, I hope you both have a good evening,
