Trump Needs to Focus

People often don't actually see it, that I am and can be critical of Donald Trump. Maybe that's because they simply assume, "He supports Donald Trump, and he views him as the Messiah, why bother reading what he has to say?" If you read my comments and my posts, I generally stick to policy. I give praise where praise is due (on both sides) and criticism where criticism is due (also on both sides). As this campaign heats up with a new player in the field to contend with, I want Trump to shift his focus, and even be more focused. There are three main issues that are important to the American people right now. Inflation, the economy and the border. And on all three issues Trump can win the election handily. If his campaign narrows its focus to those three key issues. Because on all of those three key issues, Trump is winning. Focusing on whether or not Kamala Harris is black is not important. Focusing on her intelligence is not important. Simply cite the policies that have impacted inflation like the American Rescue Plan and the reversing of energy policy and the Inflation Reduction Act, which had nothing in it to curb inflation, and this is a winning strategy. Talk about median income dropping and spending power being down. Talk about the border and the policies that led us to it being wide open and letting in tons of illegals and why the Biden administration failed bigly in this area. In all three areas of concern to the American people, Biden failed on all of them and Harris is an extension of those failiures. She owns them. Let the American people know that, stay on message, and hammer down on THOSE issues and this election is an easy win.

I don't disagree with you. Trump has been beclowning himself and turning off voters with his rambling attacks on Kamala and others, that insane press conference at Mar-a-Lago, and that off the wall "interview" with Elon Musk on Monday. His campaign workers are apoplectic with his refusal to stick to the campaign script. Every time he does any type of interview he just makes himself look worse. He should stick to policy points. He can't control himself though. He'd rather lie about crowd sizes and stupid stuff like that. That's why Kamala is tied if not leading him in several swing states. Trump doesn't have the self-control to shut his mouth about certain things. I expect to see some resignations from the campaign this week. It is sinking just like Trump playing Celine Dion's song from Titanic at his last rally.

Now that the judge has refused to delay his sentencing, I don't think Trump could reverse his failures even if he could focus and regain some of the people who have abandoned him.

@NJChicaa I am really enjoying his suffering and the way his cult is setting themselves up for even more disappointment.

I saw a funny meme about Harris that went something like this: Elect me to office and I will fix all the country's problems. Says the women who currently holds that office.

@NJChicaa I didn’t say she was president. But she holds the office, meaning she’s part of the office of the presidency. She’s basically saying she’ll fix the problems her and Biden created.

I support the chair, not the person in it. I don't have to like who controls the ovel office, but I do respect it. Biden's made a lot of mistakes that have done more harm than good. His smartest decision was bowing out of the race. We need core values back, not a glorified popularity contest. Which, when you think about it is.... that's exactly what this is.

@porwest I have started to feel for years, that the office wasn't what it used to be. People are judging based on what a person does behind closed doors, not weather or not they're running the country. It's on video, and Biden has been laughed at for, his misadventures, failed speaches, and yet he supposedly ran the country better than Trump? Trump wasn't perfect by any measure. He might've said things that weren't recieved well, but he had strong polocies in place that actually helped the American people. All of which shattered when Biden took office. And, now Haris is an extension of Biden. Do we really have a democary anymore? I fully understand you.

I had a TON of respect for the Oval Office until the day I arrived I had to question if the guy sitting behind the desk was the person who the American people duly elected to sit there. And then when the entire cabinet and administration lied to the American people about who was running the show. The Oval Office and the Office of the President was something I COULD respect, no matter who sat there, when we still had integrity and SOME level of decorum in our presidency. Now I have to question everything.

Quit saying things that have nothing to do with being President. Who cares about single women with no children.

@porwest Things like that don't help either. At the same time, Walz is no unsqueaky wheel. He's got a LOT of issues going against him, he was an unpopular governor, and Harris needs Minnesota, and with Walz I don't think she wins that state. ------Do you really think Trump can win MN??????

Do you really think Trump can win MN?????? @xander6464 I think it is a tough state for a Republican to win, and that's just me being realistic. At the same time, Walz is not popular in his own state, so it CAN happen that it poses a problem for Harris. But like all things, who knows?

@porwest It is still quite winnable, and I still think Trump has the upper hand. Time to sharply hone in on the issues he is clearly winning on. ----------------Trump's failed "policies" caused everything you are so upset about and you think he can win by focusing on them? And you always dismiss abortion as a nonissue. As if women are no longer angry and well aware of how much worse Project 2025 would make everything.

As if women are no longer angry and well aware of how much worse Project 2025 would make everything. @xander6464 You know full well what you are saying is false, so it's not worth rehashing the points with you over and over again, so we'll just let that one lie right where it is. I know the facts, you choose to deny them, it is what it is. As for abortion, as I have said time and time again, people, with the overturning of Roe v. Wade now have MORE choice than they ever have to set the laws the way they WANT to because it is no longer a federal decision, but one left up to the states where voters have more influence to air their concerns with their locally elected officials. As for Project 2025, AGAIN, Trump has NOTHING to do with Project 2025. It is a manifesto put out by the Heritage Foundation.

I agree...Getting tired of hearing about how dumb Kamala is..won't vote for her, but she is pretty smart to stay away from Interviews...I am sure they are worried about her word salads. Have to say she picked a sad VP as well. Like you say if Trump would stay on topic..this would be a landslide.

You want to talk about sad VP choices? Let's talk about this: JD Vance is more unpopular than Sarah Palin Good luck in November.

This is one of those areas where we already KNOW she's not that bright. We don't need to be reminded. Just stick to policy.

@xander6464 Kamala Harris was the least favored VP in American history. So, there's that, while we are on the topic of VPs.

I agree with your overarching contention that Trump needs to spend more time on the issues. With the economy doing well, and inflation trending downward, I would especially focus on the border. It's a weak point for Biden, and could be for Harris as well.

I don't think he did as badly as some have suggested. But I do think he could have been a bit more focused. Just my two cents worth.

I often wonder when Trump makes those personal attacks against his opponents if he feels focusing on just policy is boring and not entertaining enough for his supporters. That he needs the nicknames, calling out the media, and swearing to make his rallies exciting and a must go to event.

It has always been a side to him I wish he would shy from more. When you are winning on the issues, you don't need the insults. Especially when you have a media hell bent on only reporting on the insults and leaving the message ignored. Don't give the media what they want. Give them things they cannot avoid talking about.

That's what Fox news is talking about, I totally agree & I think if he would talk more about that than what he did in the past would be his BEST generator of voters, we already know all he did the 1st 4 yrs he had, NOW we want to know what else he can do this time around, I just can't wrap my head around how Harris can be right B-hind him in the polls.

The world is a funny place and people have very short attention spans coupled with delusions. It's hard to win against that. Democrats are the kind of people that they could set your house on fire, and they'd shout, "They gave me HEAT!"
