Back To School Night 2024

Hey there again, how are you all doing? It is after 2 AM here, but I wanted to share this before getting off to go to bed. Last night (Wednesday) was back to school night at my son's school. Eli's teacher called earlier in the day to introduce herself, but we still wanted to go meet her in person. Eli also wanted to see where the room was and who was in his class. There will be a lot of familiar faces which is good. His best friend since 1st grade will be there too. I hope they continue to be friends after elementary school. His other best friend sadly is not in their class this year. Everyone was glad to see Eli...which is not a surprise. Even my 4th grade teacher! She no longer teaches, but she helps out at the school still. I was hoping she would have taught long enough to be his teacher. Anyways -- the teacher seems really nice. She has a son named Eli too which was cool to learn. After meeting the teacher we went to the "bear den" which is a hang out place for the kids to go to take a break. They had a bunch of old library books for people to take any they wanted. Eli got a good haul of books - some classics (like Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Matilda, etc ). On our way back to the car we stopped by the table they had set up outside selling school spirit shirts. We got him one this year - never did the other years he went there. Thought for his last year at this school he might want a shirt. They change the design every year I think, so maybe when he outgrows the shirt he can save it for his future sibling and they can wear it if we are still living here at the time. That would be cool.
