I'd Call it a Successful Day

Well, I didn't get much myLotting done today. But you know, life calls and we can't be on here 24/7 plodding away of course. Nonetheless, I'd still call it a successful day. For one thing the stock market went up nicely today and has actually had a nice run since that big 1000 point drop not that long ago. I was able to write a new blog and publish a new article for HubPages, so that was a plus. On top of that, with a couple days of rain having slowed me down, I finally got the grass cut. And boy, did it need it. We were gone for four days last week and this week I wasn't able to do it until today. Luckily the rider had no problems cutting through my tiny jungle. What was on your agenda today?

I would say that is a productive use of time! Especially because you could lay out and get a tan AND play around on myLot.

@NJChicaa It was another brutally hot and humid Florida day here. Not good for being outside, unless of course you were visiting our nice cold springs.

Interesting thing about that big stock market crash. I swore to myself I wasn't going to look at any of my retirement or investment accounts, but I took a peak at one of them when I was changing my contribution rate to add MORE each week; despite the big drop, it was still up 11% for the year. I'd say I weathered that storm somewhat well I swear our grass here in Florida grows a foot per day. I dan cut the grass one day, and the very next day it looks like I haven't touched it in a week.

@nicegolden I'm not withdrawing any money from my retirement accounts right now, so it is not important to know the balance. I do not panic when the market drops, in fact I usually use that as an opportunity to buy more stocks and increase my contributions to my investment and retirement accounts.

I tend to be a constant watcher, but of course that's because there are quite a few active and moving parts to what I do. Overall, I fared well, but that's mostly because I didn't sell anything.

why?the retirement pension would changed with condition?or you merely didn't want to know the amounts you held at that time?

There's life offline, we must embrace it. As for me, I did a lot of laundry. Just got George's second of four tube feeds done, and all in all just did a whole lot of nothing in-between. It has felt quiet on the lot today, so I haven't earned a lot. But I keep checking in.

At the end of the day, our offline lives are our real ones. I guess we need to acknowledge that. lol

@porwest It can be hard to do sometimes. But, sometimes you just have to be able to put the keyboard down once in a while.

@porwest I sat and watched him eat the KFC chicken and coleslaw that we brought....but it was still nice to see him since it had been over 2 weeks because of the COVID.

My previous two days were extremely full, today was an at-home catch up day. I got to actually get a few hours of uninterrupted sleep, and did it ever feel great! I stripped the extra bed down to the mattress and washed mattress pad, blankets, sheets, and cleaned that room, in hopes that sometime soon my bestie can visit for a day or two. We are trying to work things around son's appointments, my stuff, and my friend's stuff. Not always easy. Got that all done, and made the beef stroganoff my son has been begging for, it's pretty much his favorite. I honestly think it's so rich I don't know how anyone can like it as much as he does, but there's never any left. When I make it, I always eat something else! I made enough for him to have it twice, so hopefully that will hold off the stroganoff craze for awhile!

@porwest I think it’s delicious, but it’s so rich if I eat it I just want a small portion!! I’m sure yours will be great.

It does seem like things always find away to pull us away from things that need to be done at certain times of the month or day which ever the case. But we also find the time to get it done & work on other things that's been on hold awhile, I haven't been able to get a whole lot done since husband cut his thumb, which seems to be healing good from what I can tell, I'm no dr.

Glad to hear his thumb is getting better. But yes. We do eventually find the time. It just works that way, I guess.

@2ndchances24 It is an awful way to get a reminder, but at the same time, he definitely won't forget it. That's for sure.

@porwest He has a dr's appt Monday, so maybe when he unwraps it we'll see just how good it looks from last week being the dr is putting some kind of bee wrap on it that is helping it to heal a lot faster than I thought it would, the Dr did say his nail won't grow right & he will have a numbing feeling to it, so maybe that's a good thing as a constant reminder to think about using the guard MORE instead of being hard headed.

Was an overcast, muggy day here. Got the plants watered and some deadheaded, folded and put away the laundry.

I was quite happy about it too. Usually, I don't wait so long to get it done, but we were out of town for four days and then when we got back it rained and I couldn't do it. So, it really needed it.

Your day was successful. Like you, I want to get here more often than I do. But life makes that hard to do. I was planning on mowing our yard today but neither Mike or I slept well last night, and we both were foggy headed most of the day. I did some laundry and a couple other things around home. We did manage to get a nap in and I feel less foggy headed. Mike is still resting. I will tackle the yard tomorrow before the next round of rain moves in on us Saturday.
