8/17/24 - Update On My Husband

We went to see my husband yesterday and brought him some KFC chicken. He happily scarfed down most of the bucket of chicken and coleslaw. Within 10 seconds I found the "missing" money. Glad to see that it wasn't stolen. Every time I see my husband he looks so old and frail to me. He has changed drastically over the last 6-1/2 months with everything he's gone through and losing all that weight. I can't wait to get him home. His chest is still congested from the COVID; but he isn't coughing too much. We are going to see him again on Tuesday which is his birthday (I had hoped he would be home by then...sigh); and I will bring him a couple of slices of cake. Thank you for your continued prayers, support and thoughts. Photo Credit: Pixabay

It is great that for all that he has gone through, he hasn't lost his appetite. It must have been nice to see him enjoying the food as much as he did. I hope that he enjoys a happy birthday.

Thanks. He always gobbles up any food that doesn't come from their horrible kitchen.

He always looks forward to food that is better than the slop that they feed him.

Glad you were able to see him and that you found the money. I can imagine how he enjoyed that chicken. Hey, get him home and then you can fatten him up. Wishing you both all the best and many blessings,

@MarieCoyle He peels off all the crunchy outer part and just eats the meat.

@LindaOHio He must have a stomach made of cast iron. If I are that much fried food in one day I would be so, so sick!

The best birthday present your husband can receive is having you there with him on his special day. I hope he enjoys his birthday and the cake you bring him, as well as the time you two will spend together.

He’s going to love seeing you again with visits so close together. I know it’s going to take him longer to get his strength back up after losing his momentum with Covid, but we know it’s possible, and we’ll keep on praying.
