Expired Bread?

I always look at the expiry date when I buy them.
But sometimes I forget if they are still left in the fridge. It's such a waste. I had 2 slices left but unfortunately they had been past the due date by a week now.
Do you manage to finish them off before it expires? On that topic, what do you like to spread on them ? Jam, butter, mayo, peanut butter?

When the bread inside my relatives home goes stale, my relatives and myself throw the bad bread in the backyard for the animals to eat.

@KityCat Tastes like toast. I will eat bread as long as it isn't turning green

I wouldn't worry so much about the date that is printed on the package. I would check the bread and see if it is still good. If it is green, well then that is a different story. But the dates are the last time the store can sell them, usually you can still eat it a few days later with no problem.

In most cases, when i buy bread I make sure to finish it before it expires. In fact , would have plan to ensure to have them completed by the expiry date even if it means to eat them twice a day. This ensures no wastage happens for the bread. We should always ensure there is no food wastage and ensure there is 100 % consumption of food bought. In other cases, which i had only twice in my life , had them within day of expiry . Consuming expired bread post expiry date has a lot of health risks . In fact , we should not have any food which is expired. So , always a plan to consume food items before expiry date.
