Day 214 – Provider
Joshua 15:13 Now to Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a share among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of JEHOVAH to Joshua, namely, Kirjath Arba, which is Hebron (Arba was the father of Anak).
14 Caleb drove out the three sons of Anak from there: Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.
15 Then he went up from there to the inhabitants of Debir (formerly the name of Debir was Kirjath Sepher).
16 Caleb said, “He who attacks Kirjath Sepher and takes it, to him I will give Achsah my daughter as wife.”
17 So Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it; and he gave him Achsah his daughter as wife.
18 Now it was so, when she came to him, that she persuaded him to ask her father for a field. She dismounted from her donkey, and Caleb said to her, “What do you wish?”
19 She answered, “Give me a blessing; since you have given me land in the South, give me also springs of water.” He gave her the upper springs and the lower springs.
God’s names:
JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
Yeshuwa – Jesus
Pneuma – Breath, Spirit
Theos – Supreme Divinity
God’s Character:
Provider
Parents want to provide for their children. They start providing for their children the moment they’re born.
Joshua started dividing the land to the children of Israel. The first division went to Judah. Caleb received his portion of land according to what Moses promised to him. When he got his land, he went to war against the sons of Anak and conquered the people and promised his daughter to the person who conquered Kirjath Sepher. His nephew conquered the city and gave Othniel his daughter. When his daughter came to him about the inheritance he gave her, she asked him for springs of water to go with the land he gave her, and Caleb gave them to her.
When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, you received all the promises and privileges as His child. JEHOVAH wants to give you your heart’s desire, you only need to ask. Yet many Christians fail to ask because they believe they aren’t worthy of His favor and blessing. You’re not good enough to come to Him for what you desire most.
When you believe you’re not good enough, you believe Satan’s lie. Satan wants to keep you downtrodden, in poverty, not enjoying the benefits as a child of the KING of Kings and the LORD of Lords.
Achsah went to her father to ask for springs of water, and he gave them to her. Your Father is JEHOVAH. You only need to ask. Scripture says you have not because you ask not.
James 4:1 Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members?
2 You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.
3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.
4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever, therefore, wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Pneuma who dwells in us yearns jealously”?
6 But He gives more grace. Therefore, He says: “Theos resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
9 Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom.
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
You see how you must ask, not out of lustful desires to feed your pleasures, but to give glory to Theos. When you do, Satan cannot cause you to believe you are unworthy.
Yeshuwa said to ask, and it would be given to you.
Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. (NKJV)
Ask. You have nothing to lose when you ask.
Let’s pray: Father, many times I haven’t asked for the desires of my heart because I felt unworthy. Help me to ask, knowing You will give me the desires of my heart when I give glory to You in everything. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

For conquering the land, Caleb's daughter was given to his nephew to become a wife. She asked her father for land, with springs of water which he gladly gave to her. We are a King's child and we often overlook this blessing. We have not, because we ask not. Yet, if there's sin in our life, these desires will possibly be of a sinful nature. God's grace is given, to those who repent from the heart(humble) and turn from their own wicked way. That's my part, to stay clean before the Lord!
