So, I have an appointment to do platlet donation on the 21st. Although, I generally don't do it for the rewards this one had a pretty handy gift of a 45.00 dollar gift card for first time platlet donors. However, the official going rate is only 20. Now, I tried to verify I would be getting the 45, as to the best of my knowledge I haven't donated platlets before and this was set up as a special offer. Anyway, they said it came from the marketing department and if I got the email about it, I would get the reward. However, they said there was no way to verify it. Sigh! I sure hope I get it as it would help out with that expensive cat food I guess I am going to have to buy etnerally.

$45 is a lot of money, for simply donating platelets. I would do this for $20.

It's not simple Kharla it takes 2 to 3 hours. A blood donation is simple, platlets are not. I just want what was promised to me. It will probably work out.

@snowy22315 Promises aren't worth two cents, when it comes from any online source.

@kobesbuddy have found them to be trusthworthy in the past. However, getting a verification from someone is always wise.

I hope you get the $45 that was originally promised. If it is only $20, take the money and run.

I hope you get the $45. It’s a nice thing to do, but you are taking time out of your day, and using your gas.

Exactly, and unlike with just a simple blood donation your arms are immobilized during that time. That reminds me Maybe I will bring my cellphone stand so I can watch a movie or the Kindle to listen to an audible book.

That's good that you'll get some sort of reward for doing this. I don't if it applies here. Perhaps it does.

I guess it depends on how much they need donations.
