Do you tend to get a touch annoyed when....

Last night I told my friend and neighbor I would help her out with her fuel expense if she would give me a ride to the grocery store and the pharmacy. Well she took off and went to the immediate care right off the bat. When she got back she said we would do my stuff today. I got up, got dressed and ready and the next thing I knew she was gone. She came back this afternoon all full of energy and happy. I decided that I would take myself to the stores and get the change, except that I didn't have the energy to do so. I'm going to get up fairly early tomorrow and do my errands before it gets too hot. If this lady is expecting fuel money, she better not hold her breath!!! I'm sorry, but I can't afford to help someone that isn't going to help me out, and I need the medications and above all the cat food!!! Am I the only person who gets a bit annoyed when this happens? It's like her using some of my storage space for a "short" period of time. My storage is full of her stuff and I can't get to mine or get any of mine in the storage space. She isn't paying any rent or anything like that either... I decided that there is going to be a MAJOR clean up and clean out campaign for my apartment. I don't need 18 ton of stuff taking up space...although it would be nice if my fur for teddy bears had a home in the storage cupboard..... OH WELL, one day maybe.

I would not do any such bartering with her. She is not reliable.

The reason I made the deal with her is that I needed canned cat food and some soup for me. Plus I had medication that I needed to pick up. I ended up taking the bus early this morning to get the stuff. I left at 8:55 a.m. and was back at 11:39 a.m. (August 20th) and it only cost me $2 American.

I choose my roommates with more care. I sure wouldn't take her in as a roommate. Fortunately, the apartments are single bedroom so we can't have roommates. I had hoped she would have been more honorable since I needed cat food, medication and food for myself. So much for my thinking.

@BearArtistLady well, once might be considered as her forgetting. but twice is a confirmation of choice, she choose not to help you get your needs. i can see that you have already made up your mind not to rely on her, that's good, even if she comes back to you to say she's ready to help you, don't accept her offer

Been there, done that. I have been a good neighbor. So I don't understand who are not. I truly feel for you. Hugs. Take care.

I work hard at being a good neighbor and helping out where and when I can. I don't understand those who don't or won't; but in this neighborhood there are only a couple of people who aren't caring helping individuals. Thank you for being such a good neighbor!!!

As I just told a friend of mine, I am praying like crazy that we don't have an earthquake that registers an 8 or higher on the Richter scale...man the stuff will come flying out of there like it was shot from a cannon!!! I will say that the thought of all the stuff in my storage has me going to work on the stuff in the apartment and getting a LOT weeded out.

Did you already give her some money and she didn't give you a ride?

No, I won't give her money for fuel without being in the car and on the way to the store. She goes through her cash like crazy and calls me a miser. But at least I have more money than month and don't just hand it to her to use willy nilly.

Stop helping the neighbour anymore! She is clearly not taking any responsibility

She isn't good about taking responsibility. I've been the one worrying about her when I go out. I leave a note for her that I'll be stopping by the store and if she needs anything call me on my cell...I didn't do that today for real!!!! I had enough to carry with 5 big bags of groceries.

@BearArtistLady Then you should also stop taking her responsibility.

I hope you did not give her any money up front. She is taking advantage of you.

No, I don't give her money up front, I wait until we're in the vehicle and on our way before I give her the cash. I learned that long long ago.
