Went to see my husband for his birthday yesterday. Brought him chicken lo mein and a birthday cake and cards. He seemed to have a good time.
The Social Worker came by and stuck her head in. She said she was so happy to see me and said that she hadn't heard from me recently...which means I didn't call and complain! She is so two-faced.
Physical therapy is going slowly. He still is recovering from COVID and has pain in his back and shoulders which hampers his performance in PT. I want him to have every opportunity to get stronger and come home; but I'm getting discouraged.
Thank you for your continued support, prayers and thoughts.

The best thing you can do at this point is simply be there for him and offer him the best support you can. I guess if and when he comes home is no longer as important as simply focusing on what needs to happen to even make it possible. Hang in there and meanwhile, we'll keep you in our thoughts.

You’re gonna have to light a fire under his butt.

@FourWalls I think he uses the weekends to rest. He is complaining about his back, arms and shoulders hurting. He is 83 after all and not used to rigorous exercise.

I can certainly understand that you feel discouraged. It's been such a long time already and the promise of him coming home only to have to continue to wait. I'm sure he was happy that you were there to celebrate his birthday in person and hopefully he'll continue to improve and will be home at some point. Covid really was a setback.

@LindaOHio I see that Covid has been spreading throughout the US. Guess it will never be entirely gone

It's not hard to get discouraged over such things as this
just keep your prayers coming & they will be answered
God don't put anything on us we can't handle in life.
