It's going to be another interesting day in "Dull's Ville"

As some of you know, I was supposed to get out with my neighbor the night before last and do my shopping, I would have paid her handsomely for her fuel. Well that didn't happen so I went early yesterday morning on the bus. I did Goodwill (boy that was a disappointment!!!) Then I went into my pharmacy where I ran into one of the people that works at my doctor's office. She took me to one side, reached in her purse, and produced a thermometer. Fortunately NOT an oral or rectal one, and checked my temperature and then my BP, and proceeded to chew me out. I was informed that I shouldn't be out and around and what the hell was my excuse???? I proceeded to explain that I needed my meds, and food, and change for laundry (I hadn't done laundry in a month) and....I was informed that WE were going to do the grocery shopping and she would get the change for my laundry (she knew my apartment complex had laundry facilities on site) and then she would drive me home. OKAY......I don't usually go for being bossed around but I didn't have much choice. She got me home, helped me get the groceries upstairs and put (Petey loved her putting his canned cat food in his favorite spot and giving him his treat can!!!) all of it away. She then gave me orders to rest until today before I try doing laundry. She informed me that I had caught the "Stay at home 'TWICE' virus" which apparently is one that you think you're over and can do everything and end up back at home in bed. Well I went to bed early last night and got up early this morning (thankfully, our yard blower guy was here at 6:30 a.m. it's kind of a rude awakening otherwise) Then at 7:15 a.m. the recycling truck came and dumped the dumpster in the truck. I forgot how noisy Wednesdays are!!! Then at 8 a.m. on the dot the phone rang. Who was it? My doctor!!!! Man did I get chewed out!!!! She started with what's with that no good neighbor of your's who was supposed to help you out Monday night???? Then it went on through my doing my shopping on my own and so forth. AND "IF SHE CATCHES ME OR HEARS OF ME DOING ANYTHING THAT STUPID AGAIN SHE WILL HAVE ME PICKED UP AND PUT IN A NURSING FACILITY UNTIL I'M 100%" All I could manage to say was "Yes Doctor". Then she laughed and stated that it's in my medical records that I am strong minded and will do things for myself when I need to. She added "Which load of laundry are you on now?" Before she hung up she told me to take it as easy as I could, that's the only way that I could get better...that she caught her assistant entering it in my chart about Tuesday and her helping me out. I thought that end of medical profession had ended long ago...I guess I was wrong.
