An emu that managed to get away from his or her owner in Vermillion County in Indiana for several days on Indiana state road 63 and United States Highway 36 when both the Indiana State Police (ISP) and the Vermillion County Sheriff's Office (VCSO) teamed up to round up the loose emu on Tuesday August 13.
Indiana State Patrol Trooper Tyler Turchi as well as the VCSO deputies used a dog leash laid out with a loop as a way to round up the emu who was captured by the officers and returned to its owner the same day.
How did the emu get away from the home of the its owner is not known.

Emus seem to be able to get out of many situations.

@Deepizzaguy Of all of the Liberty Mutual commercials, I have to admit, the emu has got the goods on all the others.

Emus can move fast, and it was good that they worked out how to capture it, as if it had been hit by a vehicle, a lot of damage might have resulted.
