What's for din? August 21, 2024

It's been weeks (or what feels like it since I have done one of these posts), so I figured even though I don't have pictures of our meal and will have to use a generic picture- I would go ahead and share what was for dinner. We took the canoe out tonight for a little over an hour. Chris has been working on it for the last couple of days since a certain small female child decided to drop the anchor through the bottom of it a couple summers ago. So we didn't get in till just about eight pm,and I wasn't going to cook anything that involved any actual cooking- so I boiled some eggs. Sliced them up and threw them in with some tuna, mayo and salt and pepper. That's what was for dinner tonight. Nothing fancy, but tuna is always good! Chris had Pringles with his, and she child had Oreos with hers. So that's what was for dinner tonight here, what went on at your place? Picture is courtesy of Google images.

I have never even imagined eating spaghetti with meatballs and hot dogs, but maybe it’s a regional type of dish?

@Deepizzaguy I've lived in Louisiana before and am familiar with much of your foods, but that was one I had never heard of. Thank you, George.

Tuna and eggs can always provide a good meal, I always have some on hand, too. We had salad and homemade pizza. It was good. My son loves to help make pizzas, and I encourage him to cook, so it works.

@thislittlepennyearns I honestly haven't had a lot of time I could count on lately to be here, or to get much done. I haven't slept much...so sometimes I check in here in the middle of the night, I just never know. I hope you are doing OK. We can catch up soon.

For some reason the combination of tuna and eggs does not appeal to me at all. I remember once I had some salmon patties leftover and added it to some scrambled eggs and it was awful. lol I love salmon patties. I love eggs. But they definitely do not belong together.

I'm not sure what's for dinner yet, but I’m sure it’s something that will be served with rice . From your description, did you happen to make an egg salad?

Your meal was simple and good. I like simple and good. A friend brought us a whole chicken from the Deli and macaroni salad. That was what we had for dinner.

Baked salmon and asparagus. It’s been a week of lots of seafood meals.

@thislittlepennyearns That’s a lie big time to be in the kitchen cooking. I try not to spend more than an hour in the kitchen if I can help it.

That's funny I made fried fish tonight. Lol. I was in the kitchen for about four hours tonight, baking and cooking.

This reminds me, my wife gave me the go ahead to try salmon on her again and so far I have not taken her up on that. It's been a while since I have had any and I really need some.

Dropped the anchor THROUGH the canoe? Hmm. This would have made for a great meme, "You're doing it wrong," or "You had one job." lol For dinner I made up a batch of orange chicken served over a bed of hot, white rice. Yummy.

@thislittlepennyearns I am sure if I had a kid, I'd make sure to note that an anchor is not a toy. lol
