The other day I was reading a biography . My cousin dropped by and said why read such a huge book when you can just watch a movie and do the same in 3 hours.
I am book lover.I agree watching the movies is easy and time saving but still the joy I get from reading can't be replaced.
what do you think?

You are right some things can only be enjoyed through movies....like action and magic.

Hi there! I can totally understand where your cousin is coming from. Watching a movie is definitely quicker and sometimes just what you need. But for me, there's something magical about getting lost in the pages of a book. The details, the way you can dive deep into the characters' thoughts and the world-building, it's an experience I wouldn't trade for anything. What do you think?

Hellow!!
Just like what you said...while reading I too imagine everything as if things are unfolding infront of me.I like to imagine everything in my mind and it's same as if a movie is running but in my mind...in my way

@CuriousGab Hi Jerr! That's exactly it! When you're reading, it's like you're directing your own personal movie in your mind, with all the scenes playing out just the way you imagine them. It's such a unique and immersive experience, and it's amazing how a book can transport us to another world like that. I'm glad you feel the same way!

@annierose yeap, those who have this imaginative power they know how wonderful it is.
I want that after reading a book ...watch the movie based on it to see how different it could be from how I saw it in my head

I like books too--and for me, books are usually better than movies. I truly enjoyed the LOTR movies, even though they cut a lot of the book things out, the actors were very true to the characters. Whenever I see a movie based on a book, I am always concerned how close they will stay to the original story.

Now I believe every thing have it's own purpose.
Movies and books can't be conpared cuz both of them have their own drawbacks and positives.
I personally love books as I get to imagine the things in my head and it also makes my brain do some exercise..

Yes, it's natural to have a change in taste with time.
But I would like to know what made you lose interest in books?

It depends on the genre.
Story involving action can only be depicted through movies properly.

I would prefer book over the movies. Movie may not depict exactly what is there in the book. Plus, it is more or less what the director felt or visioned. Again , the time constraint of 3- 3.5 hours , mean they cannot show all of the things mentioned in the book. Sometimes, they have to skip a major part of book due to time constraints. Book on the other hand, would give you all the feelings that may not be expressed with pictures and dialogues. It can give a different version of things compared to movie. Plus, you can read at your convenience and as time permits compared to watching movies in theatre.

There's a point to what you said.
Movies are made by director's point of view.
But we can have our own opinions and imagination when the story is in our hand.
While watching movies we are looking at readymade work...but while reading we have to imagine every scene in our lil brain
That's a good brain exercise
