Day 221 – Final Instructions Joshua 23:1 Now it happened, a long time after JEHOVAH gave rest to Israel from their enemies round about, that Joshua was old, advanced in age. 2 Joshua called for Israel, for their elders, for their heads, for their judges, and for their officers, and said to them, “I am old, advanced in age. 3 You saw everything JEHOVAH your Elohiym did to these nations because of you, for JEHOVAH your Elohiym is He who fought for you. 4 See, I divided to you by lot these nations that remain, to be an inheritance for your tribes, from the Jordan, with the nations I cut off, as far as the Great Sea westward. 5 JEHOVAH your Elohiym will expel them from before you and drive them out of your sight. You will possess their land, as JEHOVAH your Elohiym promised you. 6 “Therefore, be courageous to keep and to do everything written in the Book of the Law of Moses, lest you turn aside from it to the right hand or to the left, 7 and lest you go among these nations, who remain among you. You will not make mention of the name of their elohiym, nor cause anyone to swear by them; you will not serve them nor bow down to them, 8 but you will hold fast to JEHOVAH your Elohiym, as you have done to this day. 9 For JEHOVAH drove out from before you great and strong nations; but as for you, no one has been able to stand against you to this day. 10 One man of you will chase a thousand, for JEHOVAH your Elohiym fights for you, as He promised you. 11 “Therefore, take careful heed to yourselves, that you love JEHOVAH your Elohiym. 12 Or else, if indeed you do go back, and cling to the remnant of these nations—these that remain among you—and make marriages with them, and go in to them and they to you, 13 know for certain that JEHOVAH your Elohiym will no longer drive out these nations from before you. They will be snares and traps to you, and scourges on your sides and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from this good land which JEHOVAH your Elohiym has given you. 14 “Behold, this day I will go the way of the earth. You know in your heart and in your soul that not one thing has failed of the good things which JEHOVAH your Elohiym spoke concerning you. Everything happened for you; not one word of them has failed. 15 “Therefore, it will happen, that as every good thing came upon you which JEHOVAH your Elohiym promised you, so JEHOVAH will bring upon you every harmful thing, until He destroys you from this good land which JEHOVAH your Elohiym gave you. 16 When you transgressed the covenant of JEHOVAH your Elohiym, which He commanded you, and go and serve other elohiym, and bow down to them, then the anger of JEHOVAH will burn against you, and you will perish quickly from the good land which He gave you.” God’s names: JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal Elohiym – Supreme God Yeshuwa – Jesus God’s character: Holy Righteous When your loved ones face their last days, you want to be with them, talk to them, let them know how much you love them, and know their last words to you. Joshua faced his last days. He called the elders, judges, and heads of Israel to give them final instructions from JEHOVAH. He told them to remain faithful to Elohiym, and obey the Law of Moses, and not turn either to the right or left, but follow Him in everything, then JEHOVAH would fight for them as He promised them. When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, He promised to do the same for you. He fought for you, first on the cross when He defeated Satan, and whenever he comes against you to destroy your faith. You only need to remain faithful to Him. How do you remain faithful? Read and study JEHOVAH’S Word daily. Pray without ceasing. When you do, you will know His heart for you and know He will protect you from every evil. Let’s pray: Father, help me to remain faithful to You in everything. Help me read and study Your Word daily so I will know Your love for me. Help me to pray and seek Your face in every situation.
