Airsoft, should it be banned, or just regulated?

December 2, 2006 8:53am CST
I have been interested in Airsoft for the past 3 years and last year i bought my own equipment. Unfortuantly the British Government decided that there were too many crimes involveing replica firearms and so airsoft should be banned. Since the beinging of the debate, players have now been told that it will be regulated, rather than banned. This could come in the form of ID card, orange tips, or changing the look of the guns completely. Personally i think that players arent to blame and so licences/ID cards are the fairest way to proceed. What do you lot think?

Here in the Philippines, Airsoft is not banned but is also not legal. Just middle of last year, authorities issued a memorandum to legalized airsoft and "airsofters" here were all joyful about this milestone. With this, we were given 6 months grace period to register our AEGs for them to issue individual serial numbers. so, i don't think this one of a kind hobby should not be banned, in fact, we are having a lot of tournaments year-round here :)

YAHOOO CHEERS FOR FILIPINO AIRSOFTERS!!! i think this coming election we are allready excempted during the gunban period based on everything i've read about this issue. this sport being regulated is way much more better than playing underground. you know what i mean. i'm just a newbie into this sport but feels like i could never live another single day without it.. asking myself "how come i only played this sport just now?"
