One year without Jimmy Buffett

Musical legend Jimmy Buffett passed away from cancer one year ago. I remember hearing the news and thinking that would be the absolute worst thing that would happen during that Labor Day weekend. (boy was I wrong)
I have been a Buffett fan and Parrothead for as long as I can remember. I saw him in concert probably 15 times at least. I couldn't even tell you which of his songs is my favorite because there are so many great ones. I *can* tell you which ones I could live the rest of my life without ever hearing again: Margaritaville, Cheeseburger in Paradise, Fins, etc.
JB was not an amazing musician but he was an incredible songwriter and his joy and enthusiasm were infectious. He was an avid pilot. (look up the back story on his song "Jamaica Mistaica" ) He also was an incredible businessman who was involved in everything from casinos to restaurants to retirement communities. He was 76 when he passed away and I can say with certainty that he definitely was not ready to go. He had too much more living to do.
We miss you Jimmy.

So many artists from my era of the 60s and 70s have passed away. It makes you realize how important it is to live each day to its fullest. I could be next!
It seems like the past year has flown by.

Only good thing is that when talents like Buffet pass on we have their music to keep listening to,

I know this is a very hard week for you. I will always miss my Dad, too. I am thankful for the memories I have of him, but like you, I wish he was still here with us.
