The Shark Upright Vacuum Cleaner Filter Mystery

Last month I sent for a filter along with a HIPPA one for my vacuum cleaner. I couldn't see the tiny printing on the side of the cleaner so my grandson read the model number off to me, I found it at Walmart and sent for it. So we got the white foamy filter, took the vacuum apart, and tried to put the thing where it goes. It is about 1/8 of an inch too big. So I have my grandson look for the model number again. How can he give me two completely different numbers that are so far away from one another? The last one started with a Y and this one he read off to me just now a Q. There is only one area on the vacuum cleaner with model info on it. So weird.
I am trying again and double-checked the model number. Wish me luck.
