Grayson is Being Patient

This is just what Grayson does. I am making dinner. Baked chicken thighs with some boiled carrots and stuffing, and he just patiently waits for his nightly wet food treat. Cal, on the other hand, goes crazy and wants what he wants and doesn't want to wait for it. But he sure is cute, isn't he? I often say he looks like a racoon. It's funny, because since we have gotten back from our trip to Florida, he just can't stay out of my lap. He wants to be with me all the time. I guess he missed me. What can I say? Well, what I can say is that he is a great cat with a warm heart, and I just love him to death. I like them both, of course. But Grayson just seems to be "my cat," and he lets me know this more often than not.

I'm glad Grayson is affectionate. So often cats live by their own drummer. Have a good weekend.

Grayson was your “work kitty,” right? I remember you used to take him home on the weekends. I imagine he is very happy to have a home with you and your wife.

No. That would be Cal who was the "work kitty," licking himself in the background.

@MarieCoyle I had that last meeting with the boss and had Cal with me at the time since I was supposed to travel and they typically wanted me to take Cal home when I was out of the office since he would meow all the time for me (according to them). I told him I'd keep him for the weekend, say our goodbyes, and I would return him on Monday. "Just keep him. He's your cat anyway." They were the best words I could have heard.

@porwest Ok, Cal is the work kitty. I guess I mixed up the names. I was so glad you took the kitty home when you left your job, he is used to you and he probably feels like that was his home, anyway!

Grayson... what a perfect name for a male grey cat who is your fur baby.

@BarBaraPrz We both agree now that Batman would have been a silly thing to name a cat. lol

It seemed appropriate at the time when we came up with it, and much better than Batman, which the wife originally wanted to name him. lol

He missed you and loves you.Chilly was kind of more George's cat, but kind of became mine after the stroke. He had this habbit of following me around even after he'd been fed, when I was doing things for George. He also took turns sleeping with the both us up until the final week of his life. In that time, he spent his time on George's couch where he crossed.

A lot of cats don't "greet," but whenever we are away, even for just a few hours, both Grayson and Cal are right at the door to greet us and say hello, thanks for coming home. We missed you. lol

@porwest All my cats have, or I should say most did. They started doing it more when we were doing staycations. And Chilly was all kinds of crazy when George had the stroke and I was making trips back and forth.

cats have their own way of owning you not you owning them, they are very sweet when they wanna be & can be very determined just as much at the same time.

Cats are wild. If you feed them yummy things they will love you. Dogs, on the other hand, accept life as is from their human family.

Dogs will do anything to please their owners. Cats, on the other hand, only want to be pleased by their owners. lol

@porwest Exactly. Luna knows that the only thing I need is to have a dog that will not throw me to the floor. So she never does that when we play although she does it with Humberto when he visits.

They really are loving cats. They still do their own thing, but they like to let us know they love us all the time, which is nice.

The shedding can be terrible. Whenever the wife sweeps, we gather all the hair we find and give it a name as if it is an entirely new cat. Lovely kitty by the way. Sorry he's gone.
