I was pleased because it included items for supper tonight as well as a small pot roast for Sunday. A nice assortment of things actually.Friend and Jax are coming down to help me eat it. Even so, I should have food here for 4-5 days. Not that I was out before, just tired of eating the same stuff. However, one thing that bugged me..I forgot my tote in the car. I was staring at it right before I went in..but got distracted trying to look up a recipe,,so the end result I left it there again! I need to put a note on a post it, about bring in totes apparently. Rarely do I remember on my own. How much do you usually spend at the grocery store?

I usually spend $60 at a time to make sure I have money for the rest of the month. My medication costs seem to change, so I want to make sure I have plenty.
I’m glad Friend and Jax are coming to eat with you. It’s fun to hang out with company that you enjoy.

@snowy22315 Oh no, I end up going at least three times. I remember the days when I only had to go twice. The prices have just gone up so much.

I make one massive trip per month to Aldi and Ruler. The rest of the time are just quick and cheap trips for fresh produce and sometimes milk. That’s pretty much it.

With my son's health issues, I try hard to have what we need in the house so that I don't have to run to the store too often. It helps me to plan ahead.

I do a big shop every other week to the tune of $175-200.
The next week I only have to get fresh fruit, vegetables, milk and bread.
That is a lower amount of like $75-80.
This is the lower amount week. Next week is another big haul, and I will get enough to keep us going for 2 weeks except for fresh items that don't last. I will say that being able to freeze ham burg and hotdog buns really helps.
I have always put my grocery bags in the back seat, and I literally walk past the back door when I get out of the SUV, so if I forgot I would see them.

@snowy22315 And my groceries do not include any meat, we get that from the butcher.
It is costly, there is not enough competition for grocery stores in our province, so they are not really held accountable for their pricing. Today I went to another chain, they price match, and i enjoyed the experience there.
In 3 more weeks there is an Asian grocery store opening, which I imagine will have great prices, but I question if I can get my regular items there. Sometimes things that we take for granted, breads and dairy, cheese and other things they have limited selections for.

I just don't know why I can't remember. Perhaps it is old age.

I spend about $75- $100 two or three times a month.
I used to give myself the lowest possible budget and was mostly eating sandwiches a couple of times a day.
I have been eating Angus burgers cooked from Walmart, delicious Stouffer's frozen dinners, various subs, and a lot of side dishes. I had been eating well for quite a few weeks.
I haven't been shopping for two or maybe three weeks as I was determined to finish all the food I bought last time as my sister said she would buy me soft food and prepare and/or cook what needs to be cooked on Tuesday for the dental surgery that I had that morning. I had buttered noodles today (Friday) I almost put Italian salad dressing on them because my sister made pasta salad too. Good thing I decided to smell it and I realized it was butter noodles

@snowy22315 I am finally eating somewhat normally now as my tongue doesn't feel like it is ten times bigger than my mouth anymore!
I had pasta and spaghetti sauce today and finally had no problem eating it. I see the dentist who took off the growth early next week for the results of my biopsy for the growth. I guess they had to send it to a lab or something like that

I'm so glad they didn't get rid of plastic bags down here. I would, of course, I would forget to take totes in the store too. I usually spend around 100 if I get alot of stuff.

I spend around $50 a week with my husband gone. Some of it is for things that he wants brought to him. I hope you're having a good weekend.

I never added up my weekly spending. It sort of depends on the week I guess

Since the pandemic way more than I used to. And the last couple of years, despite what the administration/economists say grocery prices have not come down.
