A Rain Check it Is

I rarely ask for rain checks. But it depends on how good the deal is and what the item happens to be. My wife is a big fan of Chi-Chi's Long Island Iced Tea mix, and the cheapest place to get it has long been our local Schnuck's grocery store. It's been $9.99 there for years, even through inflation. The price has not wavered. We saw the recent ad and noticed they were on sale for $6.99 and so we figured, they don't go bad, let's get like 3 bottles and store them. But lo and behold they were out of the Long Island ones. They had the margarita mixes and the mudslides and other flavors. But they were plum out of the Long Island ones. I went to customer service and asked for a rain check, and they gave me one. It's a luxury item, but something kept in the house pretty regularly, so it is still worth it. And you can't pass up saving $3 a bottle.
