This day is celebrated in some parts of India. There is the 9 days novena in churches where children take flowers and throw them as the prayers are going on
On the 10th day which is the birthday children are given sugarcane. Paddy corn is distributed as we also celebrate the new paddy feast. Homes cook mostly vegetables.
I did not celebrate it this time.

Here it is celebrated in a big way. Children actually collect flowers visiting gardens but these days they just buy them.

Wow, that is great information. I have heard that there are some parts of India where catholic faith has not reached!

I have wondervful memories of the day when as a child I would run around neighbours' gardens and collect flowers.
