A word, or two, on love

"Love is the bridge between you, and everything."
Rumi, the well-known 13th-century Sufi mystic, and poet, said this
This sounds good, but love is not the bridge.
Love is who you are, and who God is, and no, there is no need for a bridge to exist, or be created, between anything, right?
Yes, love, is you, not a bridge that you use, to go to somewhere else by connection.
Love needs no connection to anything to be love, as love is God, and God is in you, when you allow him to be so.
Be love, like God is love, and do not be anything else but love, as when you substitute mind states for love, and other emotions are lived from, other than love, you are not fully being yourself, but a dim shadow of yourself, and you are not shining God's light of love though, and in you, fully then, either.
Only then, can you distance yourself from love, and then you need to get back to love, and the idea of making a bridge to love with your mind, might work for you then, if you have moved away from the love in your heart too far.
Never be slow about giving out love, or living from love. Never distance yourself from love. A bridge distances you. In truth, you do not need a bridge to love.

@innertalks I totally agree with you that love is totally deep inside us. Others just choose not to love

@rakski Yes, God made us to love, but some choose not to love, as maybe they are fearful of love, or maybe they are greedy to gain worldly goods, and feelings, instead.
We should follow that deep love inside us all, and then we will live our best life for us, then too.

Yes, thanks.
Love is a part of us, that we want to share, as it is innate in us to love.
God planted his love in our hearts, and we live best from living from that love.

Yes, real happiness usually does not come to us unless we are loving people too.

It should be "God is Love" not Love is God; love can never be God. But God is the author of Love, that is why God is Love.
And the bridge between Man and Father God is Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
We need bridge to that Love and that is Jesus Christ.
Love is not base on emotions but it is base with commitment and responsibility, without it we can't call it love.

It is just the words here that can be interpreted in different ways.
My meaning was this one:
God is love, as all love comes from God, and that love coming forth from God is still God, and so his love remains God in us, whatever we do with it too.
God's love remains love, and is God too, in this context.
Only we can distort God's love in us, and make it any the lesser in us.

@luisadannointed Well, God said that he is who he is, or "I am who I am", to Moses.
We do not know much about God really, except for God is love, kind, generous, slow to anger etc, that we get from the Bible.
If I say that God is kind, I could reverse it, and say that kind is God.
But with love, maybe you are right, the statement, God is love, cannot really be reversed, and still hold the true meaning.

Love connects us to God and creation, and helps us to stay the course.
We are unfortunately not only slow in giving out love but also stingy as if we get diminished if we are true to the inborn urge to love.
The state of our world cries out for all-out love, but a few manage to drive a wedge among us.

Yes, some divide us, and some make us fear them, and some threaten us, as they try to Hightower it over us. We need to step up, and to still love, despite these forces trying to get us to suppress our love.

@Shiva49 I am sure that a few have lost hope long ago, and just cling onto any semblance of life, to just stay alive.
Most people think that they can do nothing on their own, and hold out for some type of a divine intervention to take place.
"Do your little bit of good where you are; it's those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world."
Archbishop Desmond Tutu, said this, and it implies that we should keep loving, and living our good, rather than going the other way, and giving up, before the end of our race is run.

@innertalks Due to the oppressive atmosphere created by a few, love is on the back foot and has to fight, back against the wall.
We seem to give up hope that we can mend our ways and look up to heaven to intercede to end the endless internecine quarrels.
